I check various messageboards at least once, and usually several times, a day at work and typically post somewhere or other at least once or twice a day, but I suspect that has more to do with my work (workload and interest level) than interest in D&D per se (before I was reading and posting on D&D sites I was just as active on other non-rpg sites). Outside of work, unless I'm specifically looking something up in one of the books to respond to a messageboard post/question/argument from work, I rarely spend any time on D&D. Maybe 1 or 2 hours a week total outside of work (where I spend probably at least an hour a day...). Were I involved in an actual campaign I'd obviously spend much more time, but the fact that I'm not involved in a campaign speaks for itself. So I voted option #4 -- D&D (and, by extension, roleplaying in general) is a small but still important part of my life. Also note that this is only referring to now. When I was in jr. high back in the 80s I spent probably 5-6 hours a day thinking about, working on, discussing, or playing D&D and rpgs, and would definitely have been option #2.
