Probably. I have trouble picking favorites for anything. I do keep coming back to it. And I do play 3 d20 games currently, so there must be something about it I like.

Good thing for 3E though, I was about to give up the game when it was announced.

No, but it's not a bad game. I can do most of what I want with it even if I have to apply a shoehorn. And it's by far the easiest game to find players for.

Yes. DnD is like an old friend whom I know very, very well. I have years of work devoted to my campaign world, and that also helps to make it my favorite: the depth of the game.

Other rpgs are excellent too, but I have played far more dnd than anything else. :)

No.

My personal conversion to True20 is total.

That said, D&D is certainly one of the first systems I'd choose to work with if, for some reason, True20 wasn't the best suited.

That said, I have yet to come up with a concept for a game that I would want to play or run with something other than True20.

I guess you could say I have a hard time suspending my disbelief when some people (say, level 10 fighters) can 'safely' fall 30 feet onto solid rock five times in a row and then get up swinging, while one such fall could be reasonably expected to kill any average peasant...

Or, any mortal (for example, a ~15th level barbarian) can stand swimming in boiling water for half a minute (10d6 per round [35 average], 5 rounds, 175 damage...and the average barbarian that level has maybe 200 HP when he's not raging).

D&D is up there because it is fun. But, for me, my favorite is probably d20Modern (And Friends). D20M is easily tinkered to do everything else I want to play, including nonD&D fantasy.

But I wouldn't knock it. It's fun, has a load of support, and lots of players. I'm currently playing in only one campaign, and it happens to be a D&D Age Of Worms campaign. Having a blast.

Of course a messageboard is probably the worst place to find an "average" poll group. People who talk about RPGs on the internet for hours a day aren't the "average" gamer. :)

Nope, D&D isn't close anymore. Back during AD&D and 2nd edition, I would say it was my favorite RPG. Then I discovered Ars Magica, Deadlands, Call of Cthulhu, and WHFRP 1st edition. I also liked D&D 3.x a lot when it was first released, but the novelty has worn off it now. My favorite RPGs now, in order are:

#1 Tie of WHFRP and Deadlands
#2 Ars Magica
#3 Call of Cthulhu
#4 Savage Worlds
#5 True 20 (from a readthrough- want to play it soon using Fading Suns as the setting)
#6 Kult
#7 D&D
