Is disarm useless?

Damn you, Maudlin, for pointing out the error in my post!

To be fair, though, Vamps in Buffy don't fight with their teeth. And people bull-rush them and grapple them all the time.

Drusilla, now -- she'll give you a nasty clawmark if you try anything fancy with her. But Spike? He'll just give you a sexy sneer.

You have it precisely. Just pick it up yourself using a ME action, and go to town, assuming your other hand doesn't have a shield or something. :]

Also, it's worth noting that you can always just ask the DM what kind of action or attack it would be to kick a weapon away. Remember, when the rules say nothing, they don't mean "You can't do that", but "Ask your DM".

Yeah. Most of the season was awful, with the exception of the two you mentioned. Although, I gotta tell ya', the introduction of a handgun was just ingenius, but that's a bit OT. :)

Last season was skillfully brilliant. We saw that the show actually has actors and not just good looking people. The episodes took chances and great risks by moving away from the normal.

New season starts when? Sept 29?

I definately wouldn't go that far. I found it interesting, don't get me wrong, and above the normal humdrum of evening television.

Yup. Although, for me, the jury is still out on whether Nicholas can actually act. :)

True, they did take great risks. However, normal doesn't always mean great. :)

Disarm is especially good for monks, who get to say, "Yoink!" as they grab the weapon for themselves.

No, not by a long shot:

"If the weapons are different sizes, the opponent with the larger weapon gets a bonus on the attack roll of +4 per difference in size category. "

Hands are Tiny weapons.

Worst case would be trying to disarm someone with a large two-hand weapon. +16 to your opponents attack roll. <shudder>

ps: No comment on Buffy. :p

Evening TV has been gettign better. It still mostly sucks, but they have improved.

I think he does an okay job. Truely, the women on that show are the true talent.

Your right, normal doesn't alway mean great. I still liked the show. I thought it was thought provoking and dealt with some very tough issues realistically.

I personally love the show (been watching since the very, very beginning) and have Season 1 and 2 on DVD, but last season was just so....depressing. Real life is depressing, I watch TV for fun, so that's why I called it CRAP. Even that season was better than the best season of many shows out there (such as Voyager :p)

Okay, I can see that. For me real life is not depressing it just is. I thought the TV show stayed true to itself which few do over the course of 6 seasons. I don't mind shows that are depressing or sad. I thought they mixxed up all the emotions very good. I too have watched it since day one and have the first two seasons on DVD. I'm planning a large marathon just before the new season starts. :D
