Is Eberron a dead world yet?

You have just given me my new BBEG!

LOL!

and no. Its not dead. There is plenty of material to cover. Gaming may be slowing down in sales but I see it more as a concentration of where money is going. Eberron and F R will both be here for a long time.

Besides, except Ravenloft (deals with dead) and Darksun (about a dying planet) what is a Dead World? ;)

At least it's not your new PC. Look, I have an LA of +73!

That's quite an xp debt for a 1st level game. Or a long time to be stuck at 1 outsider HD for savage species style progression.

I just dont' see it surviving much longer with what's happening in gaming today...

Yes, I certainly don't see it surviving with the continued support it's getting.

Come on. Not only is it still getting support from WotC, but Ravenloft, Spelljammer, Dark Sun, and Planescape are all still alive (albeit in 'net presence only) and they're not getting support from WotC.

In my FLGS, it's a dead seller. The owner recently dumped a huge amount of Eberron books for cheap because they weren't moving.

However -- I wouldn't say that it's a dead world. The current edition of d20 Modern is more of a "dead world" than Eberron is, in terms of WotC support.

I'm pretty sure we'll see Eberron's continued push up until the day 4e is announced.

I know a lot of us are playing still in Eberron, but is it considered a "dead world" yet in regards to true product support for it's future?

Thoughts?

You've been snorting the dry erase markers again, haven't you?

Eberron is doing quite well, AFAIK.

Yet another in a long line of "my local gaming store / my local group / me personally doesn't like / play / sell / use setting X, therefor setting X is dead / dying / a waste of WotC's resources / part of a big conspiracy to destroy D&D".

Move along... nothing to see here.

Don't mind me, I'm just rubbernecking in the hopes of getting a glimpse of a dead world. I want to see if it looks at all like the dead worlds I see on TV crime shows...Ewww, gross, there are bits of crust and magma everywhere!

More seriously, I've seen it mentioned dozens of times in forum.rpg.net in active games, I've seen references here at ENWorld in many ongoing games, its support from WotC currently is active and strong, and just last week a new guy at our gaming table expressed an interest in doing some Eberron campaigning. It may not be the hottest thing since Gencon, but it's still seeming to be pretty alive and well.
