As others have said in different words - you are quite welcome to feel however you feel. But, along with the privilege to talk about it here comes your responsibility to this community to comport yourself in a mature and respectful manner as you express how you feel.

Is it ok to be angry with WotC?

Yes, of course, like so many have said already.

What I don't feel is ok is to act this anger out in spectacular fashion on the boards, thereby participating in something that migh ruin EN World's reputation, and our chances of a meaningful dialogue with WotC.

Basically what that is saying is "I'm angry and I'm gonna freak out and not care about what effect that will have on the community, because I'm angry."

So it's ok to be angry at WotC, but not ok to ruin our chances of speaking to WotC.

/M

I don't know if I'm even angry with them anymore. Oh sure...baseball bat to the winshield when all this broke, but not now. I'm more disappointed. They seem not to really know what they are doing with all of this. I'm not saying that's how it really IS...but that's the appearance. I do HOPE that it will all turn out fine and dandy but right now....I'm not sure.

Angry? Sure. It's okay to be angry. But be civil about it.

I like Strawberry Rhubarb pie. I don't like Chocolate Cake. (Blasphamy, I know. If anyone wants my piece of the Chocolate Cake - first come, first serve!) I may be angry that my only option is Chocolate Cake. I may even let the person that brought the Chocolate Cake know that I prefer Strawberry Rhubarb pie so they know that other options are preferred from some people. I won't go so far as to call the person that brought the cake names (or worse).

After all, if I did that I'd never get my Strawberry Rhubarb pie.

Only for those who have not been touched by his noodly appendage...

Mad at WotC...sure. Rabid...not so much. Frankly, from what I've seen, even the more rabid posters (and I'm talking about those mad about the decision to end Dragon/Dungeon, not those who are having a field day baiting them) are beginning to become a bit philosophical about the whole situation. Which is probably EXACTLY what WotC is counting on.... It's like having an entire community of people with adult attention defi...oooohhh SHINY!!

Is it OK to be mad at WotC?

I logged into the Wizard site and what new content gem did I see ?

A Barrel, Crate and Sack Generator

A what ?

Yep ... a Barrel, Crate and Sack Generator. :heh:

/sarcasm on
Apparently WotC insights into the needs of their players identified a gaping hole in the appropriate usage of wooden and hemp containers in our games. Isn't that just so right!

I don't know how many times my gaming group moaned as I described unimportant yet empty containers. Oh they wanted so much more. More potatoes and radishes ... textiles and ceramics ... that's what they wanted!

Thank you WotC ... this is just what I wanted. Its like you could read my mind!
/sarcasm off

Dear members of the WotC DI development team ... please note that if you try to peddle "creative content" such as this when players are paying for it ... you may have a problem on your hands.

Just a friendly piece of advice.

Based on that alone ... its STILL OK to still be mad at WotC :p

To each their own. Personally I think they have did more for the game then TSR. They put out some pretty solid work. All and all, i think it is ridiculous to get mad at them. Just don't buy their stuff if your not happy.
