Is it worth buying stuff especially for 3.5 anymore?

I'm switching to Rolemaster if it comes out any sooner than 2010.

In all seriousness, GOOD CHOICE.

I've always prefered Rolemaster for my High Fantasy, but there are few who'll admit it, especially on a d20 board.

If we hit 4th ed, so what? Buy it, or don't buy it. No one is holding you hostage. Why do you think there are still 1e fan sites??

Bingo! As one of the aforementioned fans of 1e/OD&D, I have to ask why does it matter? Play the game you like. If WotC screws up and puts out a product you don't like, it's their loss, not yours. You've still got the books for your old game.

People should stop being so hung up on what's official and current and just play!

I'd mostly agree, but I like 3.5. I went through my old 1e stuff, just whishing the stats would spontaneously turn into 3.5 w/o altering the scenario/art.

I like every edition, each for its own "thing". I play them all, and defend old TSR and WotC cause they're all people like us trying to make a game.

Maybe, but this does not imply in any way, that they don't plan to make a 4.5 edition!

Oh, I have it on good authority that there are no plans for 4.5 at this time, or even 4.0 because of their awareness of the potential lynch mobs . What they are planning on is 3.75e in 2006, followed by 3.875e in 2008 and 3.9375e in 2010. After that they are not sure if they will move on to 3.96875e because it may cause too much confusion with 3.9375, so they are considering changing it to log9000e and then proceeding from there...
