Is "psionic" an accepted word in standard English?

I was going to ask if "psionic" is a "real" word, but then I realized what a silly question that is: all words are "real". The proper question is, is the word recognized and accepted in standard English?

I can't find "psionic" in either dictionary I own (one is a huge mother, too) and I can't find it in any of the online reference works on bartleby.com.

Is "psionic" just a made-up word, like THAC0? :p

According to dictionary.com, it's in Webster's New Millenium dictionary of english, so it's in "A" dictionary, but it's acceptance is fairly recent (last 25 years or so).

The word is also in the OED. The OED lists its first usage in 1952 in Astounding Science Fiction.

Would you mind satisfying my curiosity and post the definition it gives?

Thanks.
