Is the SRD out yet?

It does seem like the SRD and GSL could have gone up the same time as D&D insider. But I think we all knew that insider was the number one priority of 4E, arguable more important to the company than the core rulebooks, and the SRD/GSL are pretty low on the list.

Been delayed until next week.

We are excited to announce that the Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition Game System License will be released early next week.

The license with accompanying System Reference Document (SRD), Statement of Acceptance (AKA confirmation card), Compatibility Logo, and FAQ will be posted to http://www.wizards.com/d20 and will go live immediately upon publication. The license, logo, and acceptance form will be posted as downloadable files.

Anyone wishing to participate in the D&D 4E GSL will need to fill out a Statement of Acceptance and return it by mail to Wizards of the Coast.

First on-sale date for GSL compatible products is October 1, 2008.

We are also working on a new fan site policy, to be made public at a later date.

1) *grumble-grumble*
2) Oh, I'm happy that they're producing a fan site policy - since fans don't have the OGL any longer to protect themselves (though Wizards was pretty lenient). On the other hand, I wonder what it will look like.

Cheers, LT.

I just hope that any discussion of it is not just going to be a week of people complaining that the GSL is not the OGL, etc.

I do agree a fan site policy is a good idea, to give fans some sort of "safe harbor", I'm just a little disappointed they don't have it ready yet.

Of course they'll have a "safe harbor". It's called Gleemax.

OK, maybe that's a little harsh, but right now that's how my money's wagered. Gleemax good, non-WotC sites bad.
