Is the undetectable Alignment Spell Overpowered?

Maybe I've been playing it wrong, but Prot vs [alignment] effects do not have to detect you as [alignment]. If you are the appropriate alignment then they function against you.

I would be interested in seeing text that says otherwise.

I was looking at the spell "Undetectable Alignment" ...do you guys think this is an overpowered spell for its level (level 1 for a bard)? It seems to be very effective at shielding your alignment.

...Hmm funny. I would probably ask the opposite.

Aren't all those low-level "detect alignment" abilities broken?

I'll throw you an even meaner curveball: isn't objecitified alignment in general a rather stupid concept? Try to deal with it as little as possible, and you're good. No, silly, not that kind of good...

And what are they going to do there, rearrange the tapestries?

Wouldn't let me experience you again, but that got a laugh out of me!
You forgot to mention 'stealing everyone's left shoe' though...

To the OP,
I don't think Undetectable Alignment is very overpowered (other than the example of defeating even a 9th level divination spell - that does seem odd). If you look at the Pally and his detect evil again, a lot of people aren't going to detect as anything at all to him anyway unless they are in fact evil. So just having one more person undetected won't cause any alarms to go off unless their actions are saying otherwise. Just because your alignment is hidden, other things, like sense motive, may give your intentions away as well.

This topic makes me think of Belkar and his lead sheet!
