Is the Warforged hosed vs. the Warforged Domain?

Do Warforged have any kind of defence vs. the rebuke warforged power of the Warforged domain in Faiths of Eberron, or are they simply hosed if the cleric makes their turn/rebuke roll?

Nope, they're hosed.

First order of business: yank that holy symbol. Failing that: stay out of range.

I find this entire idea absurd. You chose a race based on personal preference. Then you find out that choice means your character is vulnerable to an "attack" that every other PC race is immune too... If any GM allows this in their game the Warforged best be getting a MAJOR bonus as an offset...

You chose to play a race of sentient construct like beings, meant to be servants, that have broken away and exerted their own independence, yet object that their might be forces in the universe to exert control over them?

mmm Kay. It is ok for individual characters to have a foil now and again.

I wouldn't give ANY sort of bonus. Instead, I would expect the player to know major facts about the race they chose BEFORE building a character.

Yeah, that one human in a Warforged party should have thought about it before he picked a stupid race that's not immune to a wide variety of attacks.

(It's my opinion that Warforged are balanced, and that this "domain" is a rather specialized "attack" which won't occur often.)

I don't think the WF need more powers. They are relatively balanced, again like people say at the upper end of +0 LA.

Turning has always been one of those special attacks that can make a big difference in the game. In earlier editions, an evil priest could turn paladins and clerics as if they were more powerful undead, and vice versa. Look at 3.x -- look at how many dragons can be turned/rebuked. Not that I've seen it happen, just theoretical.

To me, it makes sense in flavor too -- you're playing a robot that was once a slave, more or less. Look at how many times Star Trek trotted out some way of controlling Data or interrupting his ability to function.

But, I digress. Just my two cents. I agree tho, that people need to know about the race/class comboes they choose.

I believe the Warforged domain belongs to the Cult of the Lord of Blades; as such, it will be only used in fights with them and most often in the Mournland. The few times it will come up, it will be a minor inconvenience but no more so than having your typical fighter-tank fail a save vs. fear and run off at the start of a fight. Besides, if you were a priest with the Warforged domain and you saw a party of 6 with 1 warforged, why would you spend a round trying to turn? Unless the warforged is the biggest, baddest dude around, it's better to try and drop a bunch of people at once than scare off one tank.
