Is there a potion, elixir or spell that makes you immune to poisons for a given time?

Basically, the PCs are going to attend a gala in which the King and multiple members of his court are going to get poisoned. But there's a catch, the royal food taster is a bad guy and is going to verify that the food is safe. I'd like him to have previously drunk a potion or elixir that would make him immune to the poison so he can "verify" that its safe to eat. That way, the King and the others won't suspect the food as being poisoned before eating it.

The PCs will then figure out that the food taster is a bad guy and have to hunt him down and find out what's really going on.

Many thanks!

Well, the obvious first look is Antitoxin, but that merely grants a +5 bonus on Fort saves for one hour. Most other items do much the same - merely giving bonuses after the fact. The only thing that I know that gives immunity to poison is the Periapt of Proof Against Poison, which is kind of expensive (27,000gp). On the other hand, the description of the item is that of a gem on a silver chain hung around the neck. Have the food taster wearing something that covers that part of his body and they should be none the wiser.

Another option is to have the food taster cast (or have cast for him) Delay Poison. It's a 2nd-level spell, which means it lasts a minimum of three hours. So long as the food tester gets someone to cast Neutralize Poison (a 4th level spell, 3rd for Druids) some time within the duration of the prior spell (or immediately after it ends), once again, the party should be none the wiser unless they happen to cast a Detect Magic and concentrate on him long enough to detect the spell's faint aura. I strongly suspect there will be stronger auras around even if they do do that, though.

Unless there is a big change between PF and straight 3rd, a neutralize poison by some Druid would brew able into a potion and provides a "cannot be poisoned for X minutes after casting (drinking, in this case). If it is too short then he will have to step elsewhere to "uncork some fresh wine" just before that course comes out, but if long enough he could easily just take it before coming to the banquet in the first place!

There is, in fact, such a change. The Pathfinder version omits the following line that is part of the D&D version:

The creature is immune to any poison it is exposed to during the duration of the spell. Unlike with delay poison, such effects aren’t postponed until after the duration —the creature need not make any saves against poison effects applied to it during the length of the spell.

In short, the Pathfinder version is strictly after-the-fact.

Delay Poison would carry him through the banquet, to have the poison neutralized later. Or perhaps the higher ups don't provide a real neutralize poison to eliminate the food taster who "knows too much". Or maybe the PC's, if they act fast enough, can beat the food taster to his cure, and use that as bargaining leverage as the clock on his Delay Poison slowly ticks down.

That's a pretty great idea! I'll use it

Why would a king have a food taster in the first place? Detect Poison is a 0 level spell pretty much on everyone's spell list. Purify Food and Drink is a 0 level spell for all clerics, surely the king will have a religious adviser who blesses all his meals, especially at a large banquet .

On to the whole assassination plot to begin with once dead the kingdom will have access to a cleric who can cast raise dead or a scroll right so what is the goal to just set the kingdom back 5,000 gold.
