D&D 5E Is there a such thing as a combat simulator?

This is a strange question and it may be in the wrong forum, but I was wondering if there was a such thing as a combat simulator for D&D (or Pathfinder). What i mean is a computer program that you can input characters and creatures and hit the "go" button and see how -- statistically speaking -- the combat is likely to turn out. Obviously weird stuff happens at the table and with real people, but even so it seems like a useful tool in adventure and encounter design. Has anyone heard of such a thing?

Since this is a two year old thread and the link in the third post is to a three year old post, I'm not sure if it's still terribly useful. But, go to that other site and download the python script.

This one is coming along nicely if you want to help test? DnDCombat

I would be interested in this as well, even if it only handles basic combat.
It does very advanced combat :-) Probably be a month or less and all the spells, class features, monsters will be implemented.
