Is'Merith - Campaign Thread

[sblock="Re: lycans"]Lycanthropes generally just resist normal weapons, IIRC they aren't immune. Weapons that count as magical, or are silvered, ignore the resistance. Your sword, btw, has a property to be temporarily magical >:D

Also they might have regeneration, I'm not sure. Hitting him with acid or fire couldn't hurt.[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC] I'm not sure if it's worth the d6 damage, but depending on how my first attack works out I may go for it.

Attack Roll: _: 1D20+2 = [15]+2 = 17

Damage Roll: _: 1D6+2 = [2]+2 = 4

Attack Roll 2: _: 1D20+2 = [2]+2 = 4

I'm not even gonna bother rolling damage for the second attack.
[/sblock]

Upon watching the poison-maker turn into a wolf man Isaac suddenly realised why silvered weapons had been so readily available. Not willing to risk his own life to hold back against the foul creature, Isaac lurches forward with an all out attack!

[SBLOCK=Turn Possibilities]Okay, I'm going to try and get a hold of Shen's thrown dagger. Someone find that medicine so we can try and end the fight as peacefully as possible.

If grabbing Shen's dagger from the werewolf requires an action, I'll attempt a Sleight of Hand check to grab it and Cunning Action: Disengage to move away.

Sleight of Hand: 1D20+5 = [14]+5 = 19

If grabbing Shen's dagger is a free action, I'll attack and then Cunning Action: Disengage to move away. I can't narrate either until I know which one to go with so Sezarious just take the one you like and go with it.

Silvered Dagger attack: 1D20+5 = [5]+5 = 10
Doubt that hits, but...
Silvered Dagger Damage (nonlethal) and sneak attack: 1D4+3+2D6 = [3]+3+[5, 2] = 13

I'm going to keep with non-lethal strikes if possible. If that seems impossible, I'll move to lethal.

In terms of narration, I'm picturing Daedarai darting in and out while Alejandro and Isaac are distracting it. If I have to grab it from the werewolf's hide, a jump grab into a roll away would be cool.[/SBLOCK]

[sblock="OOC"]Sorry for the long chain of sblock posts. Just two more things. First, killer werewolf transformation. That was awesome. Second, how big is this room? Say, hypothetically, another Large creature were to appear. Is it the kind of room where things would be too cramped if that happened? Asking for a friend.[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]The room is 15ft wide and 20ft long. The roof is about 9ft high. There will be enough room but it will be tight. Anything else before we resolve things?[/sblock]

Almost instinctively, Shen jumps back and reaches over her shoulder, finding nothing. Of course, it was breakfast, why would anyone have to bring weapons to breakfast!? Panic growing as the person in front of her does the same, loudly, she fumbles around her belt, her hand landing on something handle-like, immediately snatching and flinging it at the twisting mass.

She keeps slapping her sides for a moment, but that's all she has. Had. As the rest of the room is swept up in a flurry of motion, Shen feels frozen alone in time. A werewolf? Here? How? Why? Alejandro was right? So does that mouse really talk?

"The vial!"

Someone's voice breaks through her (admittedly fragile) concentration. The vial! Right! Her eyes dart around the room, looking for the silvery thing from before. Didn't it fall under the table?

[sblock="Turns"]So, Ambuscade turn, throw knife for Daedarai. Everyone else acts because I tanked my initiative. First normal turn, look for and grab the vial thing, which I assume will amount to an action. I'll figure out how to deliver it next round, assuming someone didn't manage to find it first. If they did, I hope these forks are real silver, because they're all going right in the wolf man.[/sblock]

[sblock=Adding a wee bit of colour] I thought I should give a bit more narrative than "me hit monster, me hit monster hard, hurr hurr hurr", so...[/sblock]
Alejandro's street instincts kicked in as he swung his staff, just missing the poisoner's head as he ducked his face towards his plate of bacon. Alejandro hated people that do that. He could still hear his mother's voice saying "food to mouth, Han, not mouth to food". If this guy had better table manners he'd be laid out now instead of...instead of...

He stares up as Troll Era morphs into a snarling ball of fury.

He gulps.

Then his focus snaps back into place. Not now, damnit. Not with Nora in trouble.

He hears a thud and Tro'leera shouts about silver. He sees a flash of metal as Shen throws something, and all of the slowness rapidly cuts back into real time. He smiles to himself at his foresight to visit the silversmith, whirls his staff in a very confident and graceful arc, and, jumping, swings it with all his strength two handed towards the beast.

[sblock=Initiative]
Alejandro: 21
Isaac:19
Daedarai: 15
Mina: 11
Tro'Leera: 7
Shen: 3
_: 1D20+4 = [3]+4 = 7

[/sblock]

With a burst of speed, Shen hurls her dagger true, her blade sinking with surprising ease into the creature, which howls in agony as a result, the flesh appearing to smoke and burn at the site of the wound.

With that, Alejandro leaps forward, swinging down and across the were-creatures jaw, fur burning away rapidly as if afire. With a yelp and the sound of breaking bone, the creature turns and growls at the Gnome, but rather foolishly, leaves it's defences open to a slashing attack to its waist from Isaac. The slash does some damage, but the blades seem to slide across a lot of the creatures fur, rather than penetrate it.

Daedarai pulls the dagger from the creature, swings and misses, then disengages from it, it does not presently appear to be paying him any attention.

A little shocked at what has transpired, Mina grits her teeth, takes a few steps back, draws back a deep breath and bellows loudly in anger at Tro'Leera "BAD DOG!" [sblock=Vicious Mockery]_: 1D20 = [6] =6 1D4 = [1] = 1. [/sblock]The wolf creature didn't much like whatever it was Mina had just did, however given its path is blocked, looks down at Isaac, blocking his path and attacks:
[sblock=Bite and Claw]_: 2D20.LOW(1) = [3, 5] = 3
1D8+2 = [3]+2 = 5
1D20+4 = [16]+4 = 20
2D4+2 = [4, 3]+2 = 9

+Critical damage:
_: 2D4 = [2, 2] = 4

Total of 13 points of damage from the claw.[/sblock]

He easily dodges his bite by ducking down, but is caught by surprise when he has been lined up for a perfect rending claw attack that comes from below. Isaac moves his head across just in time to prevent the claw from puncturing his throat, instead running from under his jaw all the way up the side of his face to the top of his head... The hot trickle of blood begins to run down and drip on the cabin floor.

Whilst all this was occurring, Shen was on all fours bumping around under the table. With a cheer, she stands up with the vial in hand and yells triumphantly! "I GOT IT!"

Round TWO!!! What do you all do?

I'll use my action surge thingy if activating the sword isn't a free action, I just felt like overcoming that DR might be very necessary.
