It's interesting to see...

Well you stabilize 10-19. Does nothing happen on a 20?

You stabilize or your state doesn't change with a 10-19? The rules we got available said that with a 10-19, nothing happened. What does KotS ruleset say?

I must admit to being a bit disappointed that Action Points in D&D 4e don't seem to do anything other than give an additional action. They have so much potential....

The Kensei paragon path has a feature that lets you spend action points to reroll instead of take an extra action.

Well, I still like 3e (although 3.5 irritated me because there were so many miniscule changes that I felt like I was no longer familiar with the rules). If I played nothing but 3rd edition for the next 15 years, I'd be a pretty happy camper.

I don't see myself running 3rd edition again, however. If 4e is as user friendly as playtests suggest, then I think this will be my game of choice to GM.

I played 3 years with 3.5 rules when i "realized" bards songs effect doesn´t need one full round to have an effect anymore...

actually i am not sure I now know every little change...

3.0 made a great improvement to ADnD. It did so many things right, and most things which became issues later were actually improvements over the last edition (stacking rules e.g.) or just not modiefied enough (AC only changed from (10 - bonus) to (10+bonus), no mechanical change)

Oh! Right. Dur.

I was confusing the saving throw rules with the dead and dying rules.

"This move is called Orange Groundsloth Pirouette Fruitbasket."
"What does it do?"
"You stab somebody with your pointy weapon."
"How about we just call it 'thrust'?"

"We can't do that. Research shows the term carries some sexual connotation."
"Oh. How about we compromise then?"
"Penetrating Strike?"
"Perfect."

You don't stabilize on your own at all. Based on what I recall reading in Keep on the Shadowfell at my FLGS:

1-9: Your condition worsens. The third time you fail, you die.
10-20: Nothing happens. Roll again next round.

If someone with an actual copy of the book can correct me, then please do.

I'm hoping when we have the actual rules we'l see there are several other uses that just haven't come up yet just because they're in the section on action points that we haven't seen yet.

I hope they don't turn out to be like the "other uses for a cleric turn undead check" that largely got ignored until late into the 3.5 era... (And even then wasn't all that wonderfull...)
