I fully anticipate that 4e will have its own issues.

Looking at just the previews, it seems like there'll be a lot of situational modifiers and extra +1s and +2s thrown around, so adding them up on the fly might slow things down.

Power bloat/creep is very possible.

Remembering all those marks and keeping track of ongoing effects.

I still don't see the point of marks. They seem at odds with the whole thrust of 4E, which is to simplify and streamline combat while still offering interesting choices to everybody.

keeping track of marks and conditions wasn't as bad as I originally thought when I first read about them.

It helps tremendously when each person on the table has their own set of markers though.

I anticipate lots of people will be using those magnetic disk thingies...if you plan on using those, make sure to paint lines or dots on the the edges of yours so it doesn't get mistaken for someone else's markers.

Personally, I've been using colored glass bead and I haven't had a problem remembering which foe I've placed a condition on.

To be fair, that could just be what they're carrying. :D

Mafiosa Earth Elementals in trench coats...

"Hey buddy, want some residium? 10 plat an ounce. Made from the finest artifacts of Khorvaire..."
