It's October...

James Zhang's artwork has really added to the overall package!
I agree. In fact, I didn't recognise the name, so I went hunting some more of his work. So far, I like.

I like the fact when you click on the images they are actually in a decent resolution unlike the map and art galleries for products so they are more usable.

Odd that there isn't a like to it from the Dragon Tab on the front page or the Dragon page... just from the Features Tab on the main D&D page hopefully they will update that at some point.

I don't believe that counts as a Dungeon or Dragon article (since it's not under either tag).
It's a Dragon feature article. It looks like they've got several places to update when they post a new article, and they only updated one slightly obscure one, and skipped under the main Dragon tab.

As I've posted on the Wizards boards...

Shame that...

a) It reads more like a Dungeon Article
b) no actually it reads more like the free web enhancements you might have got for Fortress of the Yuan-ti in the past. Heck it even has the old Web Enhancement icon!
d) It's not listed under the Dragon Tab on the D&D homepage (at this time)
e) It's not listed on the Dragon homepage (at this time)
f) No care was taken on the PDF download as it splits the pictures across pages.

But I like the article itself, and the fact the art and maps are in a much better resolution than the stuff you get in the Art and Map galleries so they are more useful to DMs.

Also the article is related to Fortress of the Yuan-ti which it plugs and links to (although it can be used independently), which is of course "The third adventure in a three-part series", but that product page doesn't link to the first two.

Really marketing people need to get in touch with the web-design people. If you say a product is the 3rd in a series, tell them what the first two are, provide links to them, that way you are more likely to get sales of the whole line to folks that only came across it due to the article. :(

It's a nice article but it looks a lot more like a Web Enhancement for Fortress of the Yuan-ti, probably something you would have got anyway before the DnDInsider initiative and cancellation of Dragon and Dungeon, and now will have to pay for come 2008.

So far they aren't even replacing Dragon and Dungeon at this rate just making you pay for Web Enhancements you use to get for free.

Not a very good start, regardless of the quality of the article itself.

It came to my inbox today, re-labled as Kobold Quarterly. Can't wait to read it when I get home tonight.

When the print one arrives in my mailbox, I'll agree with this statement.

That thing on the WotC website is any number of things, but Dragon it most certainly isn't.

This is why I'm not in customer service. I'd be in prison for murder by now. :)

"It's coming in October" can mean anything from October 1st to October 31st. But, without fail, when the earliest possible definition arrives, and it's not there, someone has to start complaining about it not being there. Oy.

Ooooooh relax! :p

I was half kidding. The promo blurb said "We can't wait for October..." like they're busting at the seams to show us the new stuff... October hits, and nothing... Not even a new Design and Development article... :p

From the WotC boards

The articles for both Dragon and Dungeon relating to what would be considered Issues 360 and 151 respectively will begin hitting the site durring the month of October. The first Dragon article "Fortress of the Yuan-ti: The Lost Portals of Castle Serastis" is already live with an "Ecology of," article slated for later this week and more articles (Ampersand, Design & Development, Playtest Reports, RPGA Report, and more...) on the way. The Dragon home page will soon change to become a hub or collection for all articles relating to the most recent issue and will change each issue to reflect that. With the older issues being archived. Dungeon pages will soon follow and receive the same treatment.
