I've been there every day, Hong. I've been posting mostly on Ptolus and Miniatures lately. :)
My log there is "Benoist Poire".

The WotC boards are a bit of a mixed ape for me. There are a lot of folks who seem to think that they are the sole authority on all things D&D, and that insulting others is the best way to get their point across.

On the other hand, there are a lot of creative fans that post lots of material there that is interesting.(EnWorld's house rules thread doesn't seem as active, but perhaps that's due to the higher number of actual professional designers that post here, not to mention that WotC is probably much larger as a whole.)

Ah, cool. Maybe I should read more of Monte's boards than just the IH and D&D ones.

IAlthough there is one: when I found out that any messages on the WotC boards that are about katanas are automatically locked - no questions asked - I found that somewhat ridiculus. Not that I'm dying to post something about katanas, or anything.
Not anymore! Katanas are OK.

The problem with "katana" threads previously was due to the "fan-boy" nature of those who love All Things JapaneseTM. You had "realists" arguing with Ninja-are-teh-Roxxorz, etc., and I suppose they ended up being such a problem.

Unlike EN World, the WotC are simply the first place that many gamers initially start off as, so you have posters of perhaps wider diversity (and temperament!) than here.

Personally, the play-by-post forum is the only one I post in and enjoy. I check out the D&D, FR, and Eberron boards every so often, usually to see what the latest/greatest thread topics are about. I enjoy the Character Optimization forum for some of the class guidebooks out there when I'm deciding on a character build myself.

The FR boards don't entice me at all, but I do enjoy the Eberron board--except when the Eberron Crusaders (i.e. a certain "respected" poster) hit a thread; from their attitudes, it seems as though D&D never really existed until Eberron, and Keith Baker's campaign-vision is The LawTM.

I left the WOTC boards when it was clear enough that I was getting anything useful from them. It´s very rare the poster there who´s interested in having a discussion, instead of just winning the discussion; a common problem in the internet, but more prominent in some boards than others.

"Other". I sometimes do a hit and run on WOTC. Like a few days ago I posted several times, and that was the first time in months, if not years. Naw, it was months.

There are some posters over there that are prety cool. I suspect they are regulars over here too. There are a alot of kids, and unfortunately many of them act like it. Then there are the adults who I thought were some of the kids.

Plus I really don't like the attitude so many of them have about 3rd party products.

Don't know what the average age is for the board, but the atmosphere is a bit... aggressive.

I haven't been blasted for making 3rd party suggestions, but they do tend to be tactfully ignored.

I dunno. Much of what I'm after seems to be covered in 3rd party sources, so I stay here.
