I've given up on WotC's message boards. What about you?

Are you visiting Wizards of the Coast's Message Boards?

So I guess you don't like sports much either huh? ;)
I don't visit any sports messageboards, to stay in the picture. Real persons (as opposed to people that post on messageboards) are a completely different story.

I suspect the sheer size of the boards myself. I just have a really hard time to find anything there. When I do find a thread somewhere that's interesting, it's extremely hard to find it back. I guess that's the amount of forums, and all the cross-referencing between categories that throws me off.

Lack of a search function also hinders the process...

I lurk on the boards that have anything to do with the planes. If you can put up with the kiddies, it's not a bad place.

Plus, I've been there long enough that I've managed to snag a custom avatar and a title. And then every so often I get a proposal to marry someone (they were a wierd one...).

Well considering you're a corrupter of the innocent, Shemmy, I'm sure you can handle kiddies just fine. :p :)

Me I'm just corrupted. :p :)

I voted: I did but I have given up on them.

Not that I really am all to active here and mostly lurk, the WotC boards like others have said have such a different vibe and I don't really like to read or partake in it. I could go on and on with particulars but I'll spare you all. Although there is one: when I found out that any messages on the WotC boards that are about katanas are automatically locked - no questions asked - I found that somewhat ridiculus. Not that I'm dying to post something about katanas, or anything. Actually though, I haven't 100% given up on the WotC boards though because I still will check out on rare occasions the Campaign Workshop area.

Just to be sure I'm clear: as OP, I'll ask everyone to be careful to not bash, insult or belittle the WotC boards' public and personnel. Let's keep it friendly, polite and civil. If it isn't, we'll close the thread. Thanks. :)

Really? How so? I mean there are some pretty brutal RL fans. I know, I had one nearly choke me once.
He obviously didn't succeed. Fortunately for you, your chance of getting strangled on a messageboard is next to nil. Which should be enough to illustrate the difference between a messageboard and RL.

But let's stop the spamming in this thread.

That might play an additional role. On a mid-sized messageboard, you get the chance to get to know some people better, which usually makes it easier to understand their posts, because you get a feeling for how to fill the blanks. Of course, too small isn't good, either. That's not a good basis for diversified discussions.

There's no way to get access to the Search function on Wizards' boards, right?
I would try Google with an advanced search. That's what I use here, too, until my community supporter account might get activated some day.
