Not that it matters to anyone but ... I have never felt comfortable with folks at EN World dogging another website or forum community. "We're great and they suck" just makes us look like jerks. My opinion only!

That's why I said the audience is different. They probably don't like it here, either. That does not imply that those people "suck". It just means that I don't enjoy it there.

Yeah what Tur said. I like En World. I didn't say or mean to imply the "suckage" of WotC. If I did, sorry. But honestly I come to En World because a) I'm more comfortable here and b) Psion keeps me sane.

Eric. I do understand the opinion. But as far as I'm concerned at least, that's not at all my aim in this thread. The aim is to get a feel of two things:

- why I personally feel "apart" of the mass of posters on the Wizards boards, either because I don't lurk enough, post enough, or I'm just a different type of public.
- whether other people here, on ENWorld, share this same feeling, and why.

That's not a thread to bash Wizards' boards. They're obviously great for many, many people who visit them regularly!

I thought about a better answer for this. I noticed that the problem I have with the WotC boards is that it's a fan board. Fan boards nearly always get onto my nerves, no matter what subject. It's the same with the Green Ronin boards, btw, or a some others I don't want to mention in this thread .

Well that's pretty much the case with lots of places that have messageboards that support mass media stuff. But when it comes to an independent, at least you're not shouted down by the "majority."

I don't share this opinion. One or two very vocal fans are often enough to spoil the dish for me.

I suspect the sheer size of the boards myself. I just have a really hard time to find anything there. When I do find a thread somewhere that's interesting, it's extremely hard to find it back. I guess that's the amount of forums, and all the cross-referencing between categories that throws me off.
