I've given up on WotC's message boards. What about you?

Are you visiting Wizards of the Coast's Message Boards?

The story I heard was that the authors were tired of reading all that scoff and scorn about their writing abilities. But this might have been just part of the scoff and scorn :).

I keep up with the OA forum about once a week, and sometimes post to it. I occasionally read a thread or two in another forum. My main problem with the WotC boards are that they're SLOW (like these boards used to be).

I sort of visit Wizards' message boards from time to time, but I just can't get hooked on any thread there. Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough, but I don't get the same vibe as ENWorld's boards have.

Do you visit Wizards' boards? Why are you, or are you not?

Anything interesting on there? Maybe you could post a link then?
Meh. I have been a regular visitor and poster on this board for six years and I still haven't found my comfortable nook here. Doesn't mean I should be a quitter.

I like the neutrality of EN World.

I like that I can talk about (and link to) other companies and products. I like the fact that I can say I bought my D&D minis from Gameoutfitter and here's the link.

On the WotC boards, I feel like I'm walking (posting?) on egg shells sometimes that if I say the wrong thing or talk about company X that I will have my post edited or somesuch.

I would like to find a board where we argue for the fun of it and then kick back and have a drink together afterwards.

C&C sucks. Now who's buying the beer? :D

That's what I heard, too. It didn't make sense then, and doesn't make sense now. What kind of author is so arrogant to not want criticism of their works from the people who purchase their novels?

That being said, however, I am a frequent poster on the WotC forums.. I frequent there more often than I do ENWorld, no offense :) I don't know what it is.. maybe because my group has never been fond of any 3rd party supplements, so reading or discussing them serves no purpose to me since none of it could ever be used. That and it's fun to argue with some of the people on the WotC boards :D

Actually, I don't like beer. :)

(And off-topic, I'm a coca-cola fan, but I really did like the way Pepsi handled themselves during the recent Coke trade secrets theft.)

First we have to have a long, heated discussion of why you think it sucks and I think it doesn't. Then we'll have earned that beer and appreciate it all the more. Because we are hot and thirsty if for no other reason. You'll buy because I'm cheaper. I don't drink beer, only Pepsi or the hard stuff for me. Preferably something with Rum. So if its Pepsi you'll buy. If its the hard stuff I'll buy for myself, that stuff is too expensive to be asking someone else to pay.

Because the people posting the criticisms (I'll use that word very lightly here) were being downright rude, fanboyish, and um... I do believe some innappropriate comments were leveled at some authors.

Not that I totally agree with the decision, but I can see where it was coming from. Most of the people that posted were being downright a-holes to the authors that took the time to respond.
