Aww c'mon you're not being fair.

Not all of the NSA is bad.
Its been pretty clear that there are elements IN the NSA that are currupt, but the guys Jake works for are all good.

Yes, Jake's direct supervisor (a peon) is good. Just the whole management of the NSA is EVIL and willing to sell WMDs to random dirtbags on the planet and drive their own agents insane. No big deal. Feh. I'm done. Enjoy the show.

I know what you mean buzzard, but I don't think anyone who makes those shows knows even one person who works in the Intelligence arena. If they do, they still change the story to what they think is more exciting. I doubt there is a show on (now or ever) that didn't have the main character's company/agnecy/whatever having some form of corruption. I only caught the end to Jake 2.0 and I thought it was simply a "nod" to the one idea most people probably thought Jake was a rip off of... the 6 million dollar man. I loved that show when I was a little snot. I used to think I could actually run faster because of it - active imagination. hehe

Threat Matrix is a good show where I haven't seen any of this "the agency you work for is evil" stuff. However, they do impress upon the audience at certain parts of the story (usually the end) that the US government and it's leaders have been responsible in some ways indirectly for setting up the need for a Threat Matrix. Not that I want to get into politics. It's done properly without any right or left wing propaganda.

BTW I don't watch the Jake 2.0 show because of the dumb love story. Guys that can't take obvious signals like that in TV shows says one thing to me "writers think they have no other way to keep you watching".

I like the direction the show is taking.
First off the girl he likes hasnt even been in the last few episodes. They seem to be drifting away from her. He also seems to have gotten the hint about the cute DR girl but hasnt jumped on it.

What i like most is that he's finally coming into his own, and is getting over the shock of whats happened to him and getting a handle on his abilities.

He wont let the brass push him around as in the WMD episode, and In the most recent one he tells the deputy director stright up that following orders to the letter will not work for him. He's finally taking control, and that, I like.

I really hope this show goes into more then 1 season. The nod to 6mdm is great. Its more then a nod, and yea, i too thought "hey this is a modern 6mdmd, great!". Actually making it part of the show rox. It would be nice to see the guy actually use his powers in a later episode. Especially if he's becoming a mentor to jake.

Threat Matrix so far hasn't given me the vibe of "evil government agency". The previous version, The Agency, was great, but you had half the people evil, or maybe just one, the big bald guy, and the rest goodie goodie.

Somebody mentioned 7 Days, that never had the evil agency theme, though it did have mistakes, like the city that went crazy due to a buried mistake and the "mutant" kids from a spill of alien fuel during early testing of the sphere.

Special Unit 2 doesn't count in my opinion as that was basically a few people in Chicago knowing more than anybody else.

24 is filled with evil and good.

Alias is such a friggin mess I mention it only for completeness.

Stargate SG-1 is essentially always good, though they have had a few shows with shadow conspiracy type stuff and those NID guys seem less interested in playing fair than the rest of the government.

I should have paid more attention to Jake 2.0 this week I guess. I did like seeing that Watcher guy from Highlander.

Anybody remember the UPN show, or was it Fox, called Secret Agent Man? The police guy on CSI named Brass was the chief and had 3 agents working for his agency, which may have been the NSA or maybe simply an unnamed "black" operation. Of course, it was a precursor to the hideous She Spies, which sucks eggs, even more so that they removed the geek dude who was the girls boss.

I mentioned 7 Days. I mentioned it because I love Time Travel shows, and I love Secret Government Agency Shows. This one was both, hence my love for it! :-D

Secret Agent Man was on UPN, Wasnt it a really bad ripoff of the British Avengers?

With 24, chapell is by far the "evil" element of the show. He was willing to take the country to war in Season 2 without trusting the instincts of his top agents. The other guy who died flying the plane with the nuke was really just angsty cause he took a job he hated for just 5000 more a year.

Jake 2.0 is definatly one of the "Star" shows of this season.

IF you want another Govt Agency show, Team Knight Rider from the mid 90's. A Gov't Agency funded the creation of 5 AI Vehicles, and a Super Plane COOP.

SG-1, Wow i havnt been able to watch that show in a while. IMO NID were always the "evil" agency for that show. They didnt care about the consequences of their actions and only wanted results. For them the Ends justfy the means.

Roswell always had the "Evil govt agency" vibe after our 5 favorite alien freaks.
