For those who follow all thing Buffy, James Marsters (Spike) will be on the Craig Kilborn show tonight. I don't recall him ever doing any of the regular talk shows before. Is this new for him? And if so, what does it suggest about the future of Buffy and himself as an actor?

I think he did an appearance with Conan O'Brian's talk show ... AFTER The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

I also recalled him having participated as a guest in the celebrity political discussion show, Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher.

Any recollections from those appearances? Were they recent enough to possibly include information on the fate of the show?

It's my guess that if they have any plan on a spin-on, they'll plant some seeds for it in interviews such as this. If not, they may focus more on projects of his outside of Buffy of just make it more about him as a "regular guy" in order to make him more marketable outside of the niche the public is accustomed to seeing him in.

When he was on P.I., it was too far back for info on the fate of the show. He was on with mo'Nique and two other people. He seemed like an intelligent fellow, but nervous, and I think he had a note sheet. Very liberal, and he was trying real hard to side with the "oppressed" people in the discussion.

One thing to take into account before analyzing the timing of this appearance is the fact that to my knowledge, this appearance on Kilborn is a repeat. In fact, looking at Kilborn's site it definitely is a repeat of James' appearance a couple of months ago when he followed Liza and her husband.

However, repeat or not, it's worth catching. James comes across as very articulate, charming, and diverse. It was the first time I had seen him in any late night interview and I hope it won't be the last time.

There is a rumor going around about him being a shoo-in for portraying a much younger Tarkin in the third Star Wars Prequel.

I think James can do the role, especially after having seen him portrayed a Nietzchean leader (Charlemagne?) of the Sabra-Jaguar Pride on Andromeda
