Jan '09: What Are You Playing?

Its 2009 in Australia and very soon to be in Finland (less than 30 minutes). So I thought I'd start up the new thread for '09.

Been playing Jaws Unleashed (PS2). I'm contemplating starting up a new game of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. I've played it and beaten it so many times, but I never get sick of it. I can hear the CD calling my name (been listening to the soundtrack, maybe too much).

Might start up Pokemon Yellow, which I haven't played in a couple of years.

Been playing Tomb Raider Underworld since I've come back from Nunavut.

I only spend an hour a day, maybe a little more playing it. I think I'm a little more than halfway through it. I'm looking forward to getting my copy of Star Ocean: Second Evolution for my PSP.

Now that Fallout 3 has been put away

I went back to the original Fable to maybe finish up so I can play Fable 2.

I got myself Dead Rising (and um, Conan) in a bargain bin, but I haven't played them yet.

I got Uncharted and Bully for Xmas and I've put them in my system for a good wander around.

Uncharted is beautiful and although the combat works well, I was hoping for less combat, and more puzzles/exploration. But it is good at what it decided to do.

Bully seemed like it was moving a bit fast. I'd pause for mischief and instantly be caught because there's a prefect in every hall who has better vision that my radar says. I think I just need to get used to it more.

And still got tons of other stuff I was in the middle of or havent played yet.

Just finished Mass Effect, which was great, so I'll see what else can grab my attention long enough (which certainly isn't an easy feat).

Maybe I should just start with one of those dozen or so games in my cupboard, that I bought, but never even installed?

Recently finished Tales of Phantasia (GBA) including the opened-upon-completion "Let's Go Arche!" game, so now I'm on to the last of my old-school game before moving on to the newer generations: I'm mid-way through Zelda: Oracle of Ages, playing it as a linked game with my already-finished Oracle of Seasons. Not bad, but after playing all the older Zelda games so far, it turns out I'm not all that much of a Zelda fan. Maybe when I get to the N64 era Ocarina of Time, it might change that?

Friend/Wife: Continuing trying to get all/most of the stars in Rock Band (PS3) before moving on to Rock Band 2. We're getting there (almost 1,700 stars!).

Sometimes: Warhawk (PS3). Want to get to Resistance 2 (PS3) online when I get a chance. Also some Little Big Planet (PS3) with my wife, but not nearly enough.

I am playing Red Alert 3 and Grand Theft Auto IV now. I think GTA IV will keep me a little more busy. Despite the initial problems with that stupid SecureROM and the start-up bug, and the fact that I have to use Games for Windows Live and Rockstar Social Club instead of just double-clicking the executable, the game is fun. I am enjoying the story-line so far. I am constantly amazed by the level of detail they put in it. Like these Caberet-Shows, and the radio shows.

I really don't know.

Pretty good, from what I've played. I haven't had a lot of time with the single-player game, though, and probably won't for the foreseeable future (whattaya want? I'm still way back playing Zelda: Oracle of Ages (GBC), for pete's sake!)

Yes, you can do split-screen co-op (and split-screen co-op + online at the same time, since you can have up to 8 players in the co-op campaign), but it's it's own campaign that intertwines with the single-player campaign story.

R2 is like having 3 games in one (single player campaign, multi-player co-op campaign [up to 8 co-op players], multi-player modes [up to 60 players, some modes are squad based]).
