I just ran this cold at Save vs. Hunger 2018. They needed a dm for their overflow so I was "3 sentences in front of the group". I was given this module 20 minutes before game time. This appears to a 3 hour module. Since the map was not stapled to the module I let the group just see it. This appears to be a great starting modules for dms and players overall.
The dice game lets the players interact with each other. The hiring by the miner is okay. BUT, the manager not wanting the group to go down in mind seems to be padding and I just threw that out. The layout of map is great. I do like each hallway sets the next room. The goblin chief encounter can go either way of talk or fight. But if it goes fight there is limited room and I think with 12 + bad guys it could go badly. The swim to the two last rooms screams set up to next part of the trilogy, I dropped them. And most of the players were wandering how come swimming was the only access to the rooms.
PS Pitons Pitons Pitons. Coffee for Pitons. The group I dm had no one with pitons but over came the problem with smart play.
