Very nice interview, it was good to see you guys talking in a casual capacity. I didn't realise the sword coast was such a large area.
Unless they're changing the geography, it isn't. He must have misspoken. The contiguous 48 states of the US is about 2800 miles east to west, and about 1200 miles north to south. Putting that on the 3e map, and using Waterdeep as a starting point, has the US stretching about as far east as eastern Mulhorand or Thay, and as far south as Calimshan or the Shaar. The whole map is about 3,800 miles east/west (or about 1.5 US), and about 2500 miles north/south (or about 2 US). But that's for all of Faerûn, not just the Sword Coast (unless they're radically changing the definition of the term).
 

yeah, the OGB has an overlay of faerun over north america (or maybe just the USA, id have to look again, at any rate....sword coast is not that big.

Unless this is some post sundering re-write..
