Thoughts on last nights episode of Jericho?

I'll be honest the only real thing keeping me into this show is Lennie's story. Are he and his group directly responsible for the bombings, or are they there to observe and record the aftermath of the bombings. I really haven't gotten attached to any of the other characters story lines.

Last night was the first episode of the show that I've seen. How many episodes deep are they into the season?

I thought it was interesting...although it seems rather hopeless....I mean, they're not going to be able to run that hospital much longer, unless they drain their vehicles of all the fuel...which in turn will mean they can't go anywhere.

My understanding of the series is that they don't know for sure if there was a war, or nukes, or what....but in this episode, they've found people dying of radiation poisoning, and another character comments about having seen tanks, and not knowing who they belong to.

Last Wednesday was the fourth episode.

I thought it was interesting...although it seems rather hopeless....I mean, they're not going to be able to run that hospital much longer, unless they drain their vehicles of all the fuel...which in turn will mean they can't go anywhere.

This episode just blew chunks. The only amusing thing about it was the end of the "tanker" scene, where I have the feeling someone just said WTF and put in the last bit with him just opening it. "That was dumb," indeed.

Also, the whole teasing with Hawkins... getting annoying.

I honestly have to wonder how this show does better than Kidnapped, which was so much better, even on a simple action front. Heck, this show gets a full-season order after last night's episode? Blargh.

To be fair, the second and third episodes weren't as bad, all nitpicky issues aside. I'm hoping next week doesn't suck too. Of course, I'll probably keep watching anyway just because it's on before Lost.

So far, this series is pretty stinky - though I'm hoping it gets better because I do love post-apocalyptic kind of stuff.

And, IMO, the alternate name for Jericho should be "The Town of Stupid es". What's wrong with the women of this town?

well, I'm hanging around long enough to find out what happened anyway. The physics of the show seem weird... they are close enough to Denver to see the mushroom cloud, but they don't get any radiation, even after a rainstorm from that area comes through? And people are dying of radiation just miles away? And why didn't EMP blow out everything electronic in the town?

I wondered about that as well. Especially in the episode with the rainstorm. What was the urgency of getting everyone into the mine or to shelters, yet others were safe in basements or just inside thier homes. Also would everything that got rained on become somewhat radioactive?

Maybe there are no radioactive particles in the water? That is kind of a stretch though if a large nuke tossed tons of radioactive material into the sky nearby.

It blew enough chunks to make me take it off my recording schedule. I do love the post-apocalyptic idea, and of course want to find out what happens, but don't want to put up with the forced and often asinine "drama" that comes along with it.

Either you critics want to rush to the conclusions or you want more actions a la Mad Max.

If that's the case, go watch Kidnapped.
