Good episode, I thought. First episode of a television drama I'd gotten my Dad to watch in a while, so hopefully I've won a new part-time convert.

That reminds me... I still need to get Seasons 1 & 2 of Dead Like Me on DVD...

Anyway... The end is interesting. Vengeance backed by truth.

The last five minutes was pretty good and made me look forward to the break. The episode itself was traditional for the show. I feel they are moving to fast with the story. I just cna't believe any town would sit tight this long for anything. And the normalcy bothers me. Halloween, an election, just doesnt seem right to have these things when you dont know things are safe abroad.

I guess it's an attempt at trying for normalcy in an abnormal world.

Makes ya wonder who it is and what they plan to do to Hawkins when they meet him...... :uhoh:

How is Jericho? I haven't seen it. Heck, I don't even know when it's on. :)

Worth picking up midstream?

In general, I love post-apocalyptic stuff.

Not very good (IMO, at least). Others might like it a lot more than I do, of course.

OTOH, I too love post-apocalyptic stuff, and that's what's keeping me watching this show. I consider each episode to be 50 minutes of meh and 10 minutes of woo! For me, I don't care about the people - I'm more interested in the 'macro' events (ie. the world around them). Unfortunately, the show is about the people.

But, the show makes me want to re-watch The Day After, so there must be something good there...

I'd say that it is one of the few serials on TV right now that won't do you any harm picking up mid-way through. The characters are pretty cookie-cutter, and you will have no problem catching up with what's going on. Reading some online summaries will even put you pretty much on par with those who watched the show from the beginning!

Just saw the 1st one - CBS.com has all of the eps. It was ok - very cardboard character stuff and setups, but apocalypses are always fun. :D

I'll watch a few more as I find the time, and decide for myself.

(and kudos to CBS for putting all of the episodes online)

Marathon weekend doing work on the computer, with the show streamed from CBS at the same time.

Overall, fun and decent, but not great.

I like that they are handing out info at a decent pace (Lost...I'm looking at you!). The normalcy stuff is ok, but I'm surprised that they haven't established any regular contact with the outside world. By now some sort of mongol express should have been set up, and Ravenwood notwithstanding, they should have had contact with someone from Government. That part bugs me a bit.

More later.
