Wizard magazine broke out the news, and Newsarama got it confirmed by DC Comics' Dan Didio. Our very own John Rogers (johnrog) will be co-writing the new Blue Beetle series alongside Keith Giffen. It debuts as part of the One Year Later event.

My guess is that the next Beetle will be a woman. Probably a young blonde woman in her early twenties. Any takers on a bet?

I just hope that whoever the next Blue Beetle is, the comic will have the same good sense of humor that Ted was known for. I'm glad that Keith Giffen is working on it.
