Jorune d20

For those who like Skyrealms of Jorune, I'm attempting an adaptation to the d20 system. I've started a thread in the Conversion section here

Any fans of Skyrealms of Jorune are more than welcome, and people who have already worked on system adaptations especially so, since that's not my case ;)

See you there !

Shanthas, Thriddles and Woffen oh my!

Jorune was/is an amazing background for a game. It is suprising not many have heard of it. A d20 conversion would smooth out some of the more quirky mechanics, and with isho make for an interesting 'magic' system.

As for source material you can find the books on ebay, usually for cheap.

Oooh, another one of my favorite old school games. :) I'm definitely NOT the person to talk to about crunchy bits and system adaptations (ach, my head!) but I've always been in love with the look and feel of Jorune. I'd love to give it a spin under d20!

I bought Jorune quite a few years ago and never used it (but I'm going to -- see Worldhopping thread). I wasn't really sure how to go about writing and running adventures for it, but loved the look and feel of the world.

Cheers

I bought the original and loved the look of the world - but I felt that the designers didn't put enough built-in "problems to be solved" (can't think of the precise word here). The whole society seems very stable and there were no grand schemes afoot; adventures mainly revolved around the possibility of becoming citizens.

That said, visually it was a complete treat, and I love the look (and attitude) of the Shanthas and the Dhar Corondon (to name but two)

Good luck!

Hi guys !

Thanks for the encouragement. How about a little help ;)

For what it's worth, about Plane Sailing's comments, I kind of see what you mean. Unlike games like Earthdawn, the world-shattering events happened 50 years ago rather than now. I guess it's up to the GM to pick up interesting stuff for the players to do that don't necessarily rock the place. I find that refreshing once in a while (and if you find that slow, try Rêve de Dragon ;))

I ran one and a half campaigns. The first one was a "simple" skyrealm chase which ended nothing like simple, of course. My players dubbed the game Stingy Gits of Jorune coz' they couldn't believe they had so little money ;)

The second would potentially have been politically important, it was all about muadra uprising for better recognition, but we never got past the first adventure.

Anyways, if you agree that d20ing the game would help, then help out and head for the thread !!!
