Joss Whedon on X-Men?

Yeah, came as a shock to me, too. :) I've known him as Logan for 20 years - This "James Howlett" stuff ain't cuttin' it for me.

And I don't read comics any more, mostly because of the insane twists and turns that have totally lost this old reader - but if Joss Whedon turns up writing the New X-Men, I just may wind up buying one comic book again. His writing is THAT good to me.

I adore Grant Morrison, and while he has his weak moments, I don't think New X-Men is one of them. I feel that he, along with Christopher Priest, is one of the best writers of comics today.
Joss Whedon...I'm unenthusiastic about. I thought seasons 1-4 of Buffy were wonderful, but I haven't been thrilled with anything of his since then. His main comic work, Fray, didn't appeal to me at all (and the twice-a-year schedule didn't help). Still, he's clearly a comics fan, and I respect his enthusiasm. I'd like him to do well, and I'll probably give him at least an arc.
