Juggernaut..resurrected?

I take it this means that you need to beat a high-level monk's (or a drow's) spell resistance in order to raise him?

Well, Raise Dead is "Spell Resistance: Yes (harmless)".

Since the only targets it can be cast on are dead creatures, the implication is that dead creatures retain their Spell Resistance...

alright. i've decided that enough is enough. after admitting that this falls into a grey area, the founder of this post has indicated that he is searching for the truth. he argues that the spell he is trying to work around is poorly worded to refute every point made against him. he refuses to acknowledge any argument he cannot refute, on the grounds that he is not here to "win"

I had never actually read the description of the Warforged Juggernaut...I was going based upon vague descriptions and general rules. Now seeing the text, there are only two reasonable options:

1) accept that Warforged Jugs become constructs and thus (like outsiders) have nothing to raise from the dead.

or

2) house rule that they retain the ability to be raised for the same reason that monks who reach 20th level still can be--the essence of what made them able to be resurrected is still there.

It is really a very simple choice that has no connection to "object", "creature", etc.

Have fun all. I'm signing off.

Thank you for your politeness.

It seems that you want to make me appear as silly.

Feel free to insult me in any way you want to.

I don't care.

If you can show us that the Raise Dead spell is well worded, and not bad worded as i've shown on this board, feel free to post here as many times you want.

But please,if your posts have only the purpose of insult me,i would be glad if you would avoid to post at all.

Thank you.

Or perhaps, better, they could have the SR cause someone casted Spell Resistance on them! :)

In fact if they are still creatures, nothing stops you from casting that spell on them! :D

Raise Dead
Conjuration (Healing)
Level: Clr 5
Components: V, S, M, DF
Casting Time: 1 minute
Range: Touch
Target: Dead creature touched
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: None; see text
Spell Resistance: Yes (harmless)[/I]

What are we touching here?

The body?

Even more confusing is True Resurrection. WHich has the same Target...

Yet for some reason doesn't require the body/corpse.

So you have to touch some strange concept of a dead creature.

It can be argued that it does require the body/corpse... unless that body/corpse has been completely destroyed.

If it had a full stat block, it would more properly be Target: Dead creature touched (see text).

And largely I agree, but it's a silliness of Written Versus Intent. Although personally, I let it get away without requiring the body if there still is one (that's my game though).

I was in the process of posting on the WizCo thread when they changed the look and style of the message boards. Now, I can't find the thread. Interesting.

Edit: Just noticed that the newest messages posted on the Eberron site was last dated 24 August. Guess they just haven't caught everything up yet.

No, since you can't raise an unwilling creature. If they are not willing, the spell simply doesn't work. If they are willing, then they can choose to lower their spell resistance.

What if you cut of his hand? Does that have spell resistance? Which remains get SR and which don't?
*shrug* Parts is parts.
