Just because the Warforged is mentioned in a playtest doesn't mean it's in the PHB

If warforged aren't in the PHB, then it seems like the playtest group isn't really doing a very good job of playtesting. I'd think they'd want to make sure sure they give the newly tweaked core races as much stress testing as possible rather than dicking around with something that won't even be in the initial books. Oh, there'll be warforged in the PHB, mark my words!

perhaps warforged are in the monster manual instead of the phb. Or maybe it was an early eberron test?

ether way, the elan has just as much chance of beinging the phb etc... based on lack of knowledge.

Or maybe they just really like their current campaign....

Which is exactly what they said.

And now I'll just mention that I'm working on an appendix for the Monster Manual that provides the basics on how to play some of the non-PH races appearing in the MM as PCs.

Which ones, you ask? Well, the final list is still under quite a bit of discussion, but options that have been floated ranged from aasimar (or as I like to call 'em, the Awesomer) to warforged.
This means that Warforged are in the MM, but not in PHB1.

No, it means that they MIGHT be in MM1. The real questions are will Warforged be in the SRD and will the points of light and FR settings have warforged.

If so: then 3rd party settings will be more or less expected to include warforged in their setting.

If not: the what the hell are warforged doing in MM1? Why aren't they in the Eberron 4E CS?

I hope that this is the case! It's clear that warforged are not wanted in the PHB, but having them in the MM doesn't require those of us who like warforged to wait an extra year for the new Eberron book. Nice compromise.

Also, I imagine that even many DMs who don't play in Eberron can appreciate the addition of a low-CR golem-like monster to the MM. (I always thought the MMI could use more constructs.)
