In the dungeon we tried to rest
But around us dangers coalesced
We fought and bled without tire
Around our slowly fading campfire
Wandering monsters? Who could have guessed?

The Green Dragon Song, sung by Merry and Pippin. The only limerick is one about a guy from Nantucket.

"Oh you can search far and wide,
You can drink the whole town dry,
But you'll never find a beer so brown,
As the one we drink in our hometown,

You can drink your fancy ales,
You can drink them by the flagon,
But the only brew for the brave and true...
..Comes from the Green Dragon!"

Wow, I actually remember those two! Do you know what year the Dragon Magazine in which you found these came out?

Sadly, no. I copied them into a Word document forever ago. I'm pretty sure the magazines themselves have been lost in a move.

Classes, spell slots and to hit rolls
There are lots of fantasy games
But there is only one name
That kills you on a failed saving throw!

All of these were in Dragon Mirth back in the mid-1980s, all by Toni Leigh Perry.

Upon drinking a Philter of Love,
An Elf suffered effects thereof.
As his head started reeling,
He looked to the ceiling.
Now he’s wedded a Lurker Above!
