Kalamar Geanavue Map (how do I get it out of the book?)

Actually, if you look very closely, you will see that the map in Geanavue is perforated. Simply tear carefully along the perforated edge.

Hope that helps!

wow, how many versions of this book are out there?:D

If it's stapled, just bend the staple ends, pull out the map, and bend them back.

Geez, this book has mulitple personalities! My copy also has that sticky strip stuff...but STAPLES! Dear God man, stop the insanity!

I seemed to have the same problem with the KoK main book (at least the first printing, I don't know if later ones are any better). The maps seem to be stuck in there, but can still be opened from within the book (though they are quite hard to fold back without tearing them). I was hoping Kenzer & Co. would have improved on that by later books. Perhaps criticism wasn't vocal enough. Consider yourselfs criticized. ~wags finger~ ;)

I'm not exactly sure what the problem is. Just pop open the three ring binder - you may have to tug a little bit - and remove the map. One of the pre-punched holes falls on a place name, which is a little bit annoying, but otherwise I had no trouble.

I just used a sledge hammer and a blow torch, but you might not have access to these. I suggest buying a canvas and paints and just recreate the map by hand, after all how long could it take?

My copy came with the map on a CD-ROM. the map is in Campaign Cartographer, so it took me an hour to open and when i tried to change the color of the forests, it took 6 hours to render.

but still, it beats using a blowtorch.

*chuckle*

You're all insane. :)

Seriously, though... There's only one version of Geanavue, and its map IS perforated, unlike the campaign setting, which used "sticky stuff."

The perforation isn't immediately obvious, so you'll have to look pretty closely. But it is there! Once you find it, just bend the map back and forth a few times along the perforation crease to loosen it up, then carefully tear it out.

My Geanavue map came out with no problems. It's a shame the Kalamar maps from the campaign setting weren't perferated too. Even after trying talc powder on the glue, it still didn't come off. A moot point now though, as I had them laminated.
