Katar - Does it count towards Rogues Weapon Talent?

The PHB doesn't describe weapon details like the Adventurer's Vault...and so it doesn't explicitly say if Katar's counts towards the Rogue's weapon talent.

Would it be overpowered to say it does? Or would that be as bad as saying the Rapier counts..despite it handling very differently from a dagger.

A Katar is a light blade, but not a dagger.

A Kukri, on the other hand, specifically states that a rogue proficient with the kukri can treat it as a dagger for the purpose of the Rogue Weapon Talent class feature.

Brutal 1d6 rogue weapon versus High Crit 1d6 non-rogue weapon... hmmmm.....

Also remember that the katar is +3 prof, while the kukri is initially +2 prof. The "rogue weapon" bit simply makes them even on proficiency, so you're really weighing brutal 1 vs high crit.
