"Tis no dream, a nightmare maybe, but not a dream," I drawl out in a US southern accent.

Keith Vargas, PhD

"Well--dream, nightmare, or real, we need to find a way out of this. Since none of us are waking up, we'll need to figure something else out."

Dr. Vargas grabs hold of the bars and sticks his face out as far as he can, yelling down the corridor, Hey! Let us out of here! You have no right! Hey!

 

[Kerrz]

After many hours of waiting, a dull clomping can be heard from the rough cut passageway in the corner. Slowly a figure begins to appear, and within moments Lucius can be seen in his immaculate purple business suit, striding towards the cage with a smile on his face fit only for the boardroom.

After a brisk, measured walk towards the bars of the cage, Lucius stops short and says, "I do hope that you are enjoying our hospitality. The spectacle above was just for the cameras. Those ladies and gentlemen were not truly hurt, it was all a stunt."

"Now, I need a few of you to come with me. Who wants to volunteer?" Lucius says with a smile, apparently ignorant of the deplorable conditions and treatment his "captives" are undergoing.

"Wha... What!?" cries Keith, shaking his head incredulously.

"Are you crazy!?" he shouts. "We've been here for HOURS!!! You can't do this to us! You'd better start talking sense, and you'd better start NOW!"

"Now, open the damn door right &%$#ing NOW," demands Dr. Vargas, "because I for one am getting the hell out of here!"

Keith glares at the man in purple, shaking with anger (and no small amount of fear, too) and waiting for him to open the door to their cage.

 

[Festy_Dog]

The young man picked up his coat but didn't stand up yet, monitoring Lucius' and wanting to gauge his reaction [empathy]. The (then angry) samaritan raised a valid point, things didn't add up and it seemed an explanation was required before anyone was going to go along with Lucius.

"The blood looks quite real from where I'm sitting," he said skeptically, his nervousness hidden behind the lowered brim of his cap to save face.

[sense motive +8, +9 when empathy is applicable]

Lucius calmly responds to the young man, ignoring the ranting of Keith. "Yes. The effects guys are REALLY good, aren't they?" he says with a smile.

OOC: Sense Motive 15 vs Bluff 13.
Taking a closer look, Keith notices that the man's heart is racing as the pulse pounds in his neck, even through the strained smile.

Finally returning his gaze to the ranting man, Lucius smiles and taps his wrist quickly before saying, "Oh. I see we have our first volunteer. Any more, or shall we just allow the good doctor his moment in the limelight?"

Chad thinks for a moment, then comes to a decision. "I'll come." I hope my ignorance doens't get me killed..

OOC: Does the blood smell or taste like real blood? I know fake blood doesn't smell like real blood, but mechanics wise I'm not sure how to tell.

OOC: The blood on some people's clothing is indistinguishable from real blood.

 

[Ranger Rick]

Chad thinks for a moment, then comes to a decision. "I'll come." I hope my ignorance doens't get me killed...

OOC Safety in numbers.

"I will go" I say calmly. As I step out I quickly look for what else can be seen outside the cage. (cameras, guards, etc.) (Spot -1)

"Of course! Of course it was all a fake, no wonder, just like that bit from 'A man who knew too little'! I'll come, sure, no problems." OOC Bluff+4 there are going to be problems the minute that cage is opened
