So I saw snippets of King Kong on the other night. Does anyone know if it is still set in the 30's. It looked like it. And I think that will make it very cool.

Yes, PJ has said from the start it will be set in the 1930's. looks good so far.

Just watched it, and yes, I am very much impressed. My initial reaction to this movie was "why bother, and I'm sure I'll go see it, but meh."

That has officially changed to, "hey, this movie could be really cool!"

I never had doubts as to how cool this movie was going to be. PJ has always said that this was truly the one movie he wanted to (re)make, his favourite from his childhood. If LOTR could be that good (overall) then how could his passion and love for KONG make it "not good?"
