KQ is *great*!

Folks-

Anybody who is on the fence about subscribing to Kobold Quarterly should absolutely do so, or at least give it a look by buying a copy. (I think it is in the big box booksellers like B&N and Borders now-- or at least that is in the works.) It is great stuff. In a year it went from being a labor of love effort, kind of like a high-end fan 'zine, to a really solid high-production value magazine.

If you regretted the loss of Dungeon and Dragon magazines (and I personally do not consider an online web page to be a "replacement") then KQ is for you.

(This has been a non-paid non-celebrity endorsement. Heh.)

Arg. I have tried so hard to convince myself I didn't need this, and every issue it gets worse. Have you seen the lineup of articles in this issue? Wow. And it's sticking with 3.5 or so the theory goes. Oh dear, I think they got me.

I've been on board since #1, and it has only gotten better with time. With an option to get print and pdf you can't go wrong-- I, for one, like to read my issue on the go or on the can, and you can't do that with a pdf.

The material's been great and it promises only to improve. Whether you play 3.X or 4E, the only question is "why haven't you subscribed?" Even material in a 3.X format converts easily enough to a 4E playstyle or it inspires. Do you really need more encouragement to get another source of material that's coming from a proven developer?

The greatest strength of an RPG magazine is its ability to inspire--no matter the system--and KQ offers a ton of ideas for fantasy gaming every issue.

I am a contributor and Assistant Editor for KQ, but I started as a subscriber, and I still anticipate and read each issue with the enthusiasm of any fan.

Check an issue out. I think you'll be very pleased. :D

Exactly. For this, KQ reminds me of old issues of Dragon. But without having to rely on nostalgia.
