KotS pre-made character question

The halfling Rogue has +7 (i think) to attack with a dagger.

+0 for level
+1 for Rogue
+3 for Strength

Where is the other +3 coming from. Same with the Dwarf Fighter.

And why is increased when they use a power?


*dont have the mod in front at me at the moment. :(

Plus proficiency with the weapon (daggers are +3).

Most rogue powers use Dex instead of STR for its attaks, so its Dex+1+3 prof.

I have read that they have many errors as well, but can't find a list of the errors which would be very helpful, especially with corrections. Has this been published and if so, where?
 

It's hard to argue the Cleric's good points... he basically needs a natural 15 to hit anything with his Daily, which is a waste of a power. Not to mention the missing racial feature.

The others are decent; not min/maxed, but not awful either. The Rogue though, as stated, is pretty well crafted.

Check my sig ("RE•GEN") for my thoughts.

The big obvious ones are:

1/ Power Attack is a stupid feat for a Fighter, particularly when he could have instead taken Dwarven Weapon Training.

2/ Half-Elf is a stupid race for a Cleric unless you optimize it, and they don't; AND they forgot to actually add in one of the most important Cleric class features; AND they forgot to add the only cool Half-Elf racial feature.

3/ The Wizard has chosen his spells poorly. He doesn't need two single-target attacks.

4/ The Warlord has a phenomenal Intelligence and substandard Strength, but he chose the two at-will powers which rely on Strength vs. AC and do NOTHING for his Intelligence.

Now I'm glad I decided to wait until my core books get here (June 10th, according to Amazon) before starting KotS so the players won't be stuck with pre-gens.
