Kulan: Knightfall's Crisis in Bluffside Game [IC]

Falen:

Watching the enchantress, he sizes up his choices. He wants to go after her. Her getting back behind Tym isn’t a good thing.

However, he checks himself. Bloodied, tired, a little fuzzy due to whatever spell she hit him with, he is uncharacteristically cautious.

As he moves forward toward her, he reaches behind him with his free hand and retrieves the healing potion from the side pocket of his magical haversack. He pops the top and drinks the potion, improving his prospects nearly 100%. More scars.

He isn’t back to full fighting weight, but he is better than a few seconds before. Into his advance, he taps his boots again, whispering another command word. He instantly disappears with another almost imperceptible “bamf”, reappearing an instant later on top of the roof of the building just East of Captain Camburn, crouching on the NW corner.

Falen can clearly see the fight going on below him on the street, but he keeps his focus on the enchanter. He tried to hide from her before, but she managed to see him. And, she managed to keep him in the dark that she did see him. Falen can tell immediately that she sees him on the roof. She is to distracted by Breva's presence to hideit from Falen.

"I still see you," she says.

In the Shop:
Trusting Sobla to fend for herself for a short moment, Tuck moves to the door. Standing over the two unconscious assailants, the kobold looks outside to survey the scene.

The bright sunlight dazzles him somewhat; it always does after some time indoors. But not far away he can see Tim and several allies, facing off against those fanatic Loyalists and their hired thugs.

And in the middle… could that be the infamous Butcher?

Without thinking too long, the urban ranger fires his crossbow once, twice, thrice, before calling out, ”Mutt, follow me!”
The first bolt hits the mark against the thug who had tumbled away from Custodio and Zenpher a moment before, hitting him in the thigh. The Loyalist thug manages to avoid the second bolt, but the third also hits, digging in deep into the man's shoulder, finding a gap in the man's leather armour.

Mutt barks at Tuck, then growls at the dying man on the floor.

OOC: Mutt will delay his action this round and then act just after Tuck in the next round.

OOC: Move to the door, then attack the closest Loyalist in sight. With manyshot, haste, favored enemy, possible sneak attack (probably no), and the sunlight sensitivity I keep forgetting.

OOC: First and second attacks are hits. 15 damage to Brelish Thug.

The mercenary near the tree steps behind it, so that Tim doesn't have a clear shot at him. He puts his focus on the halfling Elite who stumbled and fell to the ground. He swings his sword once, twice, but the the tree provides just enough cover to keep the man's longsword from connecting with Zenpher's head.

"That was too close," the halfling man says as he hunkers down behind his light wood shield. "A little help!"

"Emilia!" Custodio shouts out to the other Elite.

She nods and prepares to charge.

OOC: @ScottDeWar_jr, it is now Vincenzo's turn.

Vincenzo steps over the napping thug, walks out the door and stands next to Zenpher where he applies his training in aggrippapo fencing.
The Sectarian guard scores a hit on the mercenary who tried to take off the halfling guard's head, and it is a bloody one. The man wasn't expecting Vincenzo's blade to be so deadly.

ScottDeWar_jr on Discord said:
Vincenzo smiles knowing his opponent didn't study Venessi's defense.
The man reels in pain. He though he had the advantage, but Vinny has turned the tables on him.

"Damn it, why won't you all just die?" The mercenary sneers at the Sectarian.

"You first," Vincenzo retorts.

On the Side Street:
The Sectarian Captain moves towards the fight. She places herself in a position to see one of the Renegade's soldiers and unleashes a blast of force against the man. The effect buffets him, and Ela hopes he will be knocked down, but he manages to stay on his feet.

"Well done!" Unglar says to Ela as her rushes by her and Sir Breva. "Tall Knight, coming up behind you, my friend! I will help you deal with these curs!"

The half-orc Elite places himself next to Big Tim, but had to move too far to be able to strike. "Have at thee!" He shouts at the soldier Ela hurt with his spell.

Behind Tim and front of Breva, the mercenary cleric's summoned creature finally appears. It is a large fiendish monstrous centipede. It lashes out at Breva in anger, trying to smite the young paladin, but it is not a strong foe. Still, it is in Breva's way.

Maena steps forward, reloads her crossbow with plans to fire down the side street. But, when the magical fog billows out, she looks for another target. She sees the enchanter and fires, but the shot misses.

The enchanter moves, not away from Breva, but towards him. She places herself so that she can see both the young paladin and Ela de la Camoys. She conjures two rays of fire, which blast out towards both Breva and the Sectarian Captain. Breva is hit, but Ela manages to evade the flames.

"Sir Breva, be careful. The Renegade's enchanters are dangerous foes!" Ela calls out to the young knight. "Do not underestimate her!"

Candle Street:
Oakfirst knows there isn't anything he can due for his guard, except attack. He moves with precision. He is soon standing next to the thug who Tuck fired at moments before. He swings his bastard sword with all his strength and nearly cuts the man in two. The thug is soon lying dead on the street and Teresa watched it happen. She seems to relish the blood but also looks worried.

The other thug standing behind Teresa calmly, and without fear, steps back, lines up his shot, and fires a bolt directly into Commander Oakfirst's chest.

"Blast!" The commander yells. He can feel the poison burning in the wound, but he bares it without difficulty, for now.

"All will fall," the thug says in a monotone voice. "The master wills it."

Burchard follows up his commander's attack with one of his own. He moves quickly to finish off Teresa. He brings his sword down across her chest and the woman stumbles back. Blood is soon seeping into all her clothes and onto the ground. "So... much... blood."

She grasps at her chest and gasps. She falls to her knees. "Exquisite pain." She licks the blood off her fingers. "So good." Then, she falls down dead.

Burchard is both relieved and horrified.

Emelia takes advantage of the space provided by her commander and charges the mercenary who tried to kill Zenpher. She drives her blade into the man's shoulder. He grimaces in pain but not fall.

In the doorway of the warehouse, Medved prays to his dark god again. He brings forth a bank of fog that spreads out on the street. It blankets everyone on Candle Street and obscures everything at a distance.

Captain Camburn doesn't let the fog bother him. He fought in worse conditions. He steps boldly over the fallen Loyalist to his right and unleashes a whirling flurry from his blade. He hits all three of his foes, despite the fog, but he's not sure how badly he hurt them. The Butcher barely reacts at all, but the mercenary grimaces and curses.

Tim can senses the captain's skill is giving him an advantage. He brings his sword down against The Butcher, but either the magical fog or the blur spell ruins his strike. He swings again, but The Butcher ducks out of the way. He slams Rizvan into Imninon and the mercenary can do nothing but take another hit.

On the Wall:
The Regular is doing his best to hold out, but the man's skills are better than his own. Rhumyr stabs out again and draws blood. The Regular knows one more hit will kill him. 'Must hold on,' he thinks.

"I have you," Rhumyr laughs.

Loremaster rushes out to help the fatigued guard and find himself surprised how much changed in his brief stay in the house. He curses inwardly for his stupidity of getting surrounded and losing the overview of the battle as a whole.

He considers casting dispel magic, but then sees the guard on the wall badly hurt. He moves toward the guard on the ground, but spares enough time to aim the healing blast toward the guard on the wall
"Not yet your time, son! Revel in the glory of The Summer Queen!" golden leaves swirl on a hot blast of summer air, enveloping the guard on the parapet in warm summer day feeling, closing the wounds suffered. The wind is wide enough that it tries to catch

Move: as close to the fatigued guard as possible
Standard: (remaning turn attemps 3 of 6 (they go fast in this combat :( ) )
Healing blast hits touch AC 31 for 32 if nat 20 is auto-crit or 19 if not
secondary healing hits touch AC 18, heals for half of the above

neurotic: D20 + 7#akoschainedhealingblast → 31(20 + 7+4)#Akos chained healing blast - crit! (also, forgot knowledge devotion bonus, added after the roll
neurotic: 6D6 + 8#akoshealingtheguardonthewall → 32( (5 +5 +5 +4 +1 +4) + 8)#Akos healing the guard on the wall
Secondary healing if anyone is in 30 range is half that.
neurotic: D20 + 7 + 4#akossecondaryhit → 18(7 + 7 + 4)#Akos secondary hit

not sure if natural 20 need confirmation
neurotic: D20 + 7 + 4#akoscritconfirmifneeded → 12(1 + 7 + 4)#Akos crit confirm if needed

LOL :) chained blast heals only 19 (5+5+5+4) if it is not confirmed crit

OOC: @Knightfall : For dispel coming next round, I roll some 20 or 30 checks so you can apply them or you roll for me (CL is only 5) ?

Breva looks up at the terrible mandibles, but his shell is harder. And the caster is more dangerous. He would prefer to strike the hardest he can and smite her to the ground, but wizards use misdirection so he has to be more subtle.

Charging toward her, he weaves the sword in a pattern that will foil any displacement or other effects she might have. His tactics pay off as the hit is almost perfect.

Seeking smite vs Enchantress; smite evil damage: 1D20+14+2+4 = [12]+14+2+4 = 32
2D6+5+8 = [1, 6]+5+8 = 20
- hits 31 for 22 damage; if enchantress is NOT evil it is 27 for 14 damage (I should have risked a power attack :D)
EDIT: I re-read the feat Awesome Smite, I HAVE to use Power Attack so (since I already know the roll and described Breva as going for a sure hit, let's just say -1 and +2 to damage?)

The fiendish creature tries to bite Breva as the young knight charges, and while its mandibles come close, Breva manages to weave his way past the creature's reach.

The enchanter sets herself for Breva's attack. She has this cocky look on her face, but when the young knight's slices through the air at her, she fails to block it with her cold iron longsword. Her face shifts to that of surprise. She underestimated Breva and the power granted to him by the Purifier.

The blade cuts a deep wound in her chest. She blinks. She falls to the ground.

Akos looks towards the wall. He knows there is a guard up there fighting for his life, but he cannot see him. His chained hits blast hits the guard on the street and he arcs the healing energy back towards Custodio.

The guard on the ground gasps in relief, but he's still quite fatigued. But, he is strong enough to look up at Akos and nod to the Loremaster. "Thank you," he says. "I had lost the will to fight. I- I must t- try to stand."

Custodio gives Akos a quick salute with his blade, but the Vanquisher cleric keeps his focus on the foes on the street and his spiritual weapon attacking the traitor on the wall.

OOC: Both the guard and Custodio now are at full hps.

The guard must save vs. poison, once, in Round 14, and, twice, in Round 15.

In the Shop:
While Mutt waits for Tuck to exit the shop, Sobla goes into the back room and closes the door leading out the back.

Candle Street:
On the street, the thug, who had retreated into the warehouse, comes back out onto the street wielding a ironwood longspear in his hands a sling on his back with two javelins. He tumbles away from the captain through the fog and stops just before he reaches the dead bodies of Teresa and the mercenary lying under her.

The guard healed by Akos picks himself up off the ground and retrieves his weapon.

Custodio casts a quick spell to aid his Sectarian ally standing next to him. Vincenzo is filled with energy both inspiring and healing. But, Custodio loses his focus on the spiritual weapon, and when it tries to attack the traitor on the wall, something goes wrong. The weapons shudders in the air and then blinks out of existence. A wave of energy feedback slams into Custodio.

End of Round 12

Start of Round 13
Imninon steps away from Tim into the fog. He uses his heavy shield against Captain Camburn, but he fails to connect in the fog.

"The hard way, then," the Butcher snaps his fingers and a shortspear appears in his hand where his sword was before he dropped it. He stabs out at Captain Camburn and catches the man unaware in the fog. The spear digs deep. He brings the weapon around against Tim but the large knight blocks the spear with Rizvan. The Loyalist Bastard also stabs out at the half-orc Elite next to Tim, but the fog ruins his strike.

The Loyalist next to the Butcher stays focused on Big Tim. His leader's aura removes all fear from the man and swings his longsword at Tim. Again, Tim blocks the attack with Rizvan.
