Lamentation of Lolth - Chapter X

Teleri looks grim as she suddenly considers that they are going into crypts. Crypts sometimes mean undead. And undead always mean trouble. "Pardon friend Broddy. We are going into a set of crypts before we hit the true underdark. I need to get some more items that might affect such creatures."

She walks back to Lord Morn's manner and enters as Lauret finishes speaking. She coughs, getting their attention. "Forgive me lord Morn. In the heat of meeting old friends and aquaintences, I did not consider that we might be meeting undead before we meet drow." she smiled a little.

"And while I am fairly well equipped to deal with drow, I am not so equipped to deal with undead. I think that a supply of blessed arrows would help, as well as a goodly supply of holy water as well." she said mildly.

"Hi," she said to Broddy as she walked up to wait for the others. "I don't blame you for what happened before. It wasn't the fault of any of us really. We were dealing with forces way out of our league and we were bloody lucky nothing worse happened." she said with a small, sad smile. "Or if it was anyone's fault, we all share the guilt equally."

"Not everyone sees it that way unfortunately." Broddy replies as he nods his head in Calenthang's direction.

"Of course, I will wait here."

Calenthang shook his head to ward off the apology though his honor demanded one.
"I do not spurn your counsel, orator Laurent. In fact, I have need of your knowledge..." For the wood elf, that was as close to a request for help as the bard was ever going to see.

Sielwoodan is in the stable and finish to brush Felmir's neck. But the animal is ignoring him. Somehow, Felmir knows that he will not see the ranger again for some times and that mean that he won't get all the attention he would like, so he sulk and refuse to give any attention to him. But Sielwoodan doesn't mind, the mule might hard to live with, but he is always have been loyal, a quality that many humans lack.

The elves leaves the stable and walks to the Inn, seeing Calenthang and Laurent, he leaves the bard to his discussion and asks to the Innkeeper some hot water. He then find Calenthang, waiting for his hot water. "We should leave in less then an hour, so we arrive before nightfall. If we meet a group of drow, try to keep one alive for questionning. For the others, I doubt they would have any mercy for us..."

Opening the door of his room and taking one last look around to make sure he had not left anything behind, Ayden pulled the cowl over his head once more and left the inn. While his ability to see in the darkness had left him once he turned his back on Shar, her lingering touch still left his eyes sensitive to the sun above. It was not enough to blind him, or to hinder him beyond a constant level of annoyance, but it was enough that he still longed for the twilight hours.

While he did not see any of the group immediately, he quickly saw the gnomish mage sitting and reading from his book.

~It may be any book…it does not have to be the book.~

Forcing himself to move forward on wooden legs, Ayden stopped himself a dozen paces shy of the mage, well within his sight, but not so close as to invite conversation, and waited for the others to return.

Calenthang focused on Sielwoodan, studying him to make sure the ranger knew what he was asking of the hunter.
"If fate serves that the last dark elf we see is at my mercy, I will stay my blade long enough for the others to question it, however fruitless. This I will do for you, friend Sielwoodan. When the time comes for the drow to meet justice, you will not deny me my right to mete it."
Calenthang offered his hand to the elven ranger expectantly.

Also, I'd appreciate it if someone could suggest to the stubborn warrior that he bring a mace or some other bludgeoning instrument along. Except for Ayden...[/sblock]

Sielwoodan takes Calenthang hands and shakes it, knowing that anyway, he would not be teh one who could stop the warrior blades against a drow. "Fruitless, maybe. When you want to kill a tree, you must cut his roots, not his leaves. Don't forget that."

The Innkeeper arrive with hot water. Sielwoodan garbs a small pouch of herbs and put a few leavs in the water. He waits a moment to see them infusing and then starts to drink. Once it's finish, he turns to look at Laurent who seems to chat with some locals. "Let's join the others". Sielwoodan leaves the Inn and head toward Ayden and Broddy who are waiting for the others to get ready.

As he come by the two, he asks "What light source do we have? And what do we have to fight against drow? And undead, as we head toward a crypt?"

Calenthang shook his friend's hand with a firm grip. He shook his head once to let the ranger know he got his meaning.
Laurent was preoccupied and Sielwoodan was ready to head out; Calenthang naturally followed the ranger to the others.
When Sielwoodan asked what the group had to fight dark elves with, he unsheathed his sword and held it in front of him. "I carry this. It is blessed and made potent against the drow."
He had no answer for the undead; they were not his specialty.

"I'm not sufficiently strong enough as a druid to adopt the form of any animal that might see in the dark. Therefore I have adopted the traits of a more humanoid burrowing creaturel," he pats his back, "One belt of dwarvenkind. Don't ask me how or where for it is a long story that I would prefer to keep for another day. I don't intend to wear it until we are ready to go below however as it has some interesting side effects."

"But no matter how good elven eyes are even you need at least some light to function yes? I would venture that we explore as many options as possible, both magical and mundane so that we have some redundancy and are not comitted to to one or two courses of action."

"As for what I bring to the fight? I have my voice, and my magic, such as it is. I am slightly concerned about what happens if this crypt truly harbours the undead, for we are strong on archers and have two fine swordsman but have na'rely a blunt weapon between us. We come up against some skeletal beast I fear it will go ill for us."

OOC:
[sblock]Can't really say a lot about the crypt yet, awaiting Majin
May go shopping dependent on what Lord Morn says.[/sblock]
