Set-up

You've just entered a crypt from the graveyard above, after hearing that a madman has gone below to desecrate the dead and make sacrificial offerings to the Frog Lord.

Find him, and end the threat to the town!

Too easy. :)

OK, standard rules apply. When you post, feel free to do any sort of IC chatter if you so desire (might be fun!) but you can keep it OOC. For speech, choose a font color for your character so it's easy to determine at a glance who's speaking (you'll quickly get used to who's who by color). I'll add rings to your character tokens (once I figure out how) that match your font color later.

Put your actual turn in an OOC block like so:

OOC: Move: Run to D15
Minor: Drink the Blood of Aires (immune to poison)
Standard: MBA vs. skeleton (#2, the one in D16, the one to my left, etc.)
AP: Smashie goodness against same target
Free: Heroic Effort for either the MBA or AP attack if either miss

When combat is entered, I'll roll init for the whole shebang and in each post I make, there'll be a tracker that looks something like this:

[sblock=Combat]
Initiative
39 Danny
22 Jack
22 Madman
16 Skeleton #1
16 Skeleton #2
10 etc...

Status
Jack 5/9 surges, 31/44 hp, 2 temps
Danny 3/10 surges, 10/38 hp, bloodied, blind (madman) save ends
Skel #1 19 dmg taken, marked by Danny
(health bars above everyone's heads, including enemies, give a % of health remaining)
etc...

Turn #1
Danny move to xx, hit skeleton #1 for 14 radiant (vulnerable!)

Jack cowers in fear, readied action: run out door when opened by Jordan

Skeleton #1 etc...
[/sblock]

If you're using the characters I emailed out with no changes, I don't need anything from you. If you even make one change or make your own, please send me your CB (or a pdf, if needed). I just need them if I need to bot your character.

I'll be working with light, shadow, darkness. Bear with me.

This crypt is VERY dark. You have very limited vision/personal light (not using any low-light or dark-vision for this test, regardless of your race). There are some light sources about. You'll see in the very 1st room that you can't see the last square in the SE corner of the room (unless someone were to move closer). Fog of war is in effect. Once you've "seen" an area, it'll remain on the map for you, but if you move out of vision of the area, it'll "soft grey" over. Should make for some neat opportunities to hide in corners and the like. Again, this is so I can test using it.

Just need 2 more of you to post here that you're ready, and I'll post the actual first map to start from. Then it's to you.

What I said Originally
"OK lads, I won't brook any worshippin' of no frog lord. Lets nab this crazy and get back to drinkin."

What I retcon said:
"Ok lets do this quick. I have a feeling Frog Lord worshiping lunatics are either A) Worth a Bounty, or B) Bad for business.
OOC: I open the "Door to Adventure"

GM: there's a great setting you can use within EnWorld that puts the most recent post at the top of the thread instead of oldest first. That way you can bookmark just the 1st page and the older stuff will scroll out the the subsequent pages.

Not one to tarry about, Warren swings the door open wide, opening into a hallway beyond. Careful! You never know what sort of traps there could be...

Danny, Jack, and Warren in the room for now until/unless I hear from Nate and/or Jordan.

I sense a deep evil in this place. Stay close and be prepared comrades.

OOC
Examine the statues and move into the room with the group.

GM: now this would be a great place for a perception check (or even a Religion check), which you can do by using the Add Dice Roll button inside your post. also, you can use tags for things like OOC using the following syntax: [ ooc ] YOUR TEXT [ /ooc ] (without the spaces inside the brackets). I'm doing the same here with "[gm /gm]" tags.

Assuming Jack's passive perception of 14...

The statues depict a likeness of Dol Arrah. In her hands are ceremonial bowls which, when filled with holy water, would be used to cleanse the hands before entering the crypt.

{they are not trapped, evil, or anything other than me playing with props}

Moving into the hallway, there is a lit everburning torch in a wall sconce at the bend... ahead, the light gives way to darkness.

GM: Sometimes there are notes I'll wish to put for specific characters. Unless it's really sensitive (needing a private message), I'll place it in a hidden block, like below. Honor system - if it doesn't say it's for you, don't read it.

[sblock=For Warren's Eyes Only]
There is a slight discoloration in the floor tiles to the west... they don't seem of the exact stone make as the rest of the flooring in this hallway. Made this just for you assuming a Scout would have good eyes. Usually I'd just rely on passive perception, but who cares right now... [/sblock]

GM: Made a slight adjustment to last map so 1 more square to the west shows (link is the same, uploaded new map). You can now see a door at the end of the hall.
