The elemental pops up half-way at 80N75E and hits the image! (Rolled 18)

The image either disappears or stays if the real imp concentrates, in which case the elemental still gets a Will save for disbelief.

Hoping the earthern mass stays dumb, Inigo goes invisible then drops down into dirt pile's square, hoping it will take another shot at the image before it disappears.
 

Round 231

The image disappears due to the hit and lack of concentration to make it react appropriately.

Inigo invisibly enters the elemental's square. The elemental sinks back under the ground.
 


OK, a draw is declared in round 232.

A mass of jello-like protoplasm, 10 feet on each side, moves to 55N90E.

Next up for LE: a meenlock. (MM II) It goes first in round 233.
 

Dragging it's clawed hands, into the ring trudges a stooped, 2' tall humanoid covered with shaggy spines. Quite intimidated by the gigantic jello cube, Manny moves to 115N 10E and tries his Rend Mind ability, hoping the cube will buckle like a not-quite-set salad.

[edit: if Manny figures out the cube is mindless (via Rend Mind or Telepathy) he'll attempt to move in an paralyze the cube, then tear it to bits. If he gets paralyzed, he'll use Dimension Door to escape (if possible) and keep using D.Door to move corner to corner for a draw]

Round 233

The cube ignores the meenlock's probes and moves to 55N60E.

Round 234: Manny moves to 95N40E and tries to communicate with the thing.

No response. The cube moves to 55N30E.

Round 235: Manny charges to 65N40E and activates his fear ability. He hits with a claw for 1 point of damage. The cube has 53 hp left and is unaffected by the fear or paralysis.

The cube mows over Manny! He gets sucked in! (Rolled natural 1 Ref save) Manny is paralyzed (rolled 19 Fort save) and takes 4 points of acid damage. He has 14 hp left.

Round 236: Manny d-doors to 5N40E. The cube moves to 30N35E.

Round 237: The cube moves over Manny and delivers 1 point of acid damage.

Round 238: Manny d-doors to 5N100E. The cube moves to 5N65E.

Round 239: The cube moves to 5N95E and delivers 5. Manny has 8 hp left.

Round 240: Manny d-doors to 65N100E. The cube moves to 35N95E.

Round 241: The cube moves to 65N95E. Manny takes 6 and has 2 hp left.

Round 242: Manny d-doors to 65N40E. The cube moves to 65N65E.

Round 243: The cube moves to 65N35E. Manny takes 2 and has 0 hp left.

Round 244: Manny d-doors to 5N40E. The cube moves to 35N35E.

Round 245: The cube moves to 5N35E and finishes Manny off!

Next up for LE: an equiceph. (Miniatures Handbook) Switch?
 

Poor Manny...yes please, switch-a-roo. And I suppose, given the cube's in-depth choice of tactics, you can just have it continue doing what it does best - sloshing around towards movement and trying to drown it.
