Leadersihp and Thrallherder

Here's how I always think of it.
A person with Leadership is like a king. People serve under him, and he keeps them with money and lodging. If he dies not get them this, they leave him.
A Thrallherd is like the Force. People follow it, but they don't expect the Force to pay for their food and lodging. After all, it is the Force.

And as far as Fanatic, Helpful, and stuff like that, I base it off of their Leadership/Thrallherd score. The higher the score, the more dedicated.
For example, a paladin with a Leadership score of 50, if he tries, can make his paladin underlings Fanatics, through speeches, actions, and the like.
A paladin with a Leadership score of 25 can inspire his paladins to help him in his cause, effectively at Helpful rating.

But that's just my two cents. I mean, what does a guy with the name Thrallherd know about this stuff?

I'd say the main guidance for what thralls/believers will do for the Thrallherd comes from the "fluff text" for the class.
Exp Psionics Handbook said:
Thrallherds manipulate the minds of others as if they were clay in the hands of a sculptor. Some creatures are more susceptible than others to the thrallherd’s unconscious, but continual, call to service. And so they come, eager to be led, happy to follow, and completely under the thrallherd’s control. In this way, thrallherds keep a minor menagerie of enthralled servants that are anxious to do their will.
(emphasis added)

What cohorts and followers will do and what they expect is explained quite well in the DMG, chapter 4, in the "Friends" section. But thralls/believers are completely under the thrallherds control. They will do anything he asks- that's what makes them come to the thrallherd in the first place. There is literally nothing a Thrallherd can do that will have a negative influence on their attitude towards him.

With thrallherds I always think of Thulsa Doom coaxing the girl to come to him by jumping off a cliff! If they're willing to do that they wouldn't bat an eye at slaving away and then handing over all their earnings.
