Leather Bound PHB Cover Image

But it should be brown leather, blue leather for the DMG, red for the MM, brown for the PH. I know they've said this book is it for collector's editions but they all say that. A book like that would want company.

And, yes I would pay even more to have errata incorporated.

Maybe they'll do the right thing with the 4th edition collector's editions.

Edit: And use precious stones and metals.

God, can you guys not find the WOTC product pages.

It has Errata!!!

Of course this'll mean that you'll all run out and buy one now, so it's a good job mine is pre-ordered!!!!

Sheesh, you'd rather sit in a forum and say your not gonna buy it if it has no errata than go and check if it has errata!!!!!

Soulcat, it is much easier for me to sit here and complain than it is to look at the appropriate web page. Duh! ;)

I was going on what Andy Collins had previously stated that errata would not be updated.

Edit - actually it says "The text contains errata, so you can use your Special Edition Player's Handbook at the game table as well as display it as a wonderful showpiece."

This means that it STILL HAS ERRATA. Maybe they meant to say it has the errata corrected, but that's technically not what this says...

Exactly.

Again, exactly. I blame Andy for not emailing me personally about the change.

But still not brown leather, right? And not one of three, leather bound collector's core rules books embellished with real jewels?

A collector's edition? BULL!!! It's just another ploy from WOTC to fleece us out of our money like D&D3.5 is. WOTC is getting more greedy as time goes by and I refuse to support them

Yes, that's it, give in to the Dark Side!

Me? I'll think about it. It's expensive but not essential for my collection. Kinda like BESM d20 Limited Edition. Fantastic looking book but it was still on the expensive side. I felt like a dolt when I saw it at Gen Con at the table buy one get three free.

When asked at GenCon, they stated it would include corrections for errata. When asked if there would be more, they gave an ambigous answer that most there interpreted as "yes"...at least from what I heard people talking about.

People. It's a collector's edition. If you aren't into buying collector's things that cost premium dollar than it was never intended for you. Simple as that.

Me? I'm a sucker for this nonsense so I'll be picking up a copy. And I'll probably never even crack it open.

I'm with you. I will drop my $75 happily. I will touch the cover and feel it's bumpy goodness. I will flip through the books to check out any foreword or anything like that and make sure everything is in order (i.e. I've seen this before...) and then it will be shelved and never opened again except maybe on the rare occasion that I wish to show someone. They won't be allowed to touch it though. This was the exact process my leatherbound Ravenloft Campaign Setting went through.
