Leaving ENworld at last

This is a sad turn of events. I will miss you, Turanil...you have always been an insightful and interesting poster, even if I didn't always agree with you.

This is, unfortunately, something that's happening more and more on EnWorld: old school posters leaving. Even though I'm enjoying 4E, I can still see its issues, and one of them is that it did not do all that well with our original EnWorlders. Perhaps Hong just got all of the 4E juice or something ;). I don't know what there is to do about that, unfortunately.

I'll miss ya', and all the others who just dropped off without saying anything.

ciao - - it is indeed a rare interaction of effects, it seems. I think it would be far easier to tolerate an increase in postings you don't care about or don't want to see if it didn't take an insane amount of time to click on a post and find out that this is the case. There are a lot of online fora that I use that have a MUCH higher percentage of chaff to wheat, so to speak, but they are so quick in navigation that it's no big deal.

Oddly, I'm already reaching the point where I don't want to type more for fear I'll lose it all...so I'm illustrating some peoples' point.

Take care Turanil. I've always enjoyed reading your posts.

My time here has also decreased considerably, for many of the same reasons you listed. I have no interest in 4E, and I'm kind of in d20-burnout mode right now, but the main thing has been the quality and speed of the site. It literally took me 4-5 minutes just to be able to reply to this thread.

I don't want to sound like Debbie Downer but I question where the money I gave to this site has gone.

I've been spending a lot more time on RPG.net and the Pinnacle Savage Worlds forums these days.

Good Luck Turanil! You are a strong and known presence on the boards. Generally strong and insightful posts (and this coming from a 4e dude. :) )

One question though, why cancel your account? It won't have any effect other than prevent you from coming back and using your well known alias.

I have to admit I have been having similar thoughts. Its one reason why I have let my "Community Supporter" lapse.

See ya around.

For those who did read some of my posts back in the days, I am closing my account and leaving ENworld.

Everything I enjoyed disappeared, mostly due to the 4e flood, but also with things like the download-thread function having disappeared (how useful it was!), and the forums becoming impossibly slow in the evening. Times change. I will spend more time elsewhere.

Anyway, ENworld was great until 2007, and I want to thank you all for the great times and inspiration I had during those times. Especially the ones who created and maintained this website. Really great work.

Thanks.

Come over to the Paizo boards, your Greyness. It's better there.
