Psionics was never a big appeal to me in 3.5, though maybe they'd be less of an issue in 4th. (I didn't feel like learning ANOTHER resource management type for spellcasting, I already had issues deciding Wizard vs Sorcerer and what spells to know/prepare/cast)

Seeker sounded interesting, but unless I find a good wad of money by the time it comes out (I'm prioritizing 3.x purchases since AFAIK they are out of print at this time, and so will only become more rare, whereas 4th edition is the new thing and is less likely to become hard to find.) I won't be able to afford it anyway.

I was just wondering if I'd missed a controller in the PHB or PHB2.

yeah, until PHB3 comes out, neither the Psion, nor the Seeker are viable classes. If you're insistant on doing a controller, I would suggest going with Wizard. I know there are already several wizards in LEB, however, with as varying and widespread as the races and different Wizard spells/rituals are, with a little bit of fluff work, you can create someone who is remembered for WHO they are, not WHAT they are. Both of the d'Sivis wizards are illlusion specialists, so if you were to go with something else, you can create a wizard that is completely unlike the other wizards in LEB.

FYI: A dragonborn druid from Q'barra would fit the isolated theme: The jungles of Q'barra were pretty remote until a group of high-minded nobles from Cyre butted in 20-40 yrs ago and moved in.

I've read the three 4E books and the did a quick search in the Grand History of Eberron - are there any other books I could find easily that go into more detail on the Demon Wastes, and the House Tharashk outpost in particular?

The 3.5e ECS book has a pretty extensive section on the Demon Wastes, not sure if the 4e CS book has it as well.

That's certainly true, Pok and Roswyn have very similar builds (they're twins, after all!) so it's almost more like there's only one wizard in play already, if you're just looking at builds. You could definitely make a very different sort of wizard especially if you have access to Arcane Power. (Probably even if not, since the illusion stuff comes out of Arcane Power...)

A dragonborn druid could also hail from Argonnessen, aka the dragon's continent, as well. Druids aren't specifically mentioned as being from there IIRC, but there are definitely tribes of dragonborn barbarians where druids and shamans would also fit. (Humans too, for that matter.)

Another obvious place where you find druids would be the Eldeen Reaches, which is a new nation basically run by druids. I'm not sure what sort of disaster would have driven you away from there, since it's relatively peaceful... though you could certainly make something up. Elves, humans, and half-orcs would be more natural race picks for the Eldeen Reaches.

Kalidrev, do you feel I should not play a controller? If so, is it because of the difficulty, or do you feel that a controller isn't an important component?

At the moment, I have two races for each of the two controller classes I am considering.

I'm not super fond of the wizard for some reason. I think it's the idea of having to study books.

For the Invoker: Human, Deva. Human's a bit popular, but it seems a solid choice, and Deva obviously fits as well. Either one I'd roleplay as something strange happening to them and granting them a strange gift shortly prior to the present, causing them to begin wandering and adventuring.

For a Druid: Razorclaw Shifter or Elf. I've already mentioned the story idea behind this one.

Question: What are LEB's rules regarding multiple characters? I've looked about and found nothing concrete. Also, is anyone playing below level 4?

I'm also a bit shaky on the magic item stuff, so once I get that far in chargen I will likely poke here with questions with regards to how that stuff works.

Ok, I was getting close to finishing my character when I got to this. 'Unlike the method used in the DMG, you must purchase any mundane equipment with which you start.' I have some questions on this.

Identification Papers and Travel Papers? To me they'd fall under one of those things everyone has. Do we have to buy these?

Arcane Signet Ring? Much like the ID papers, do house members have to buy these?

Spellshard? If I get the Ritual Caster feat and a ritual book for free, can I take a spellshard instead? If I can, can I #1 do it without cost, #2 do it by paying the difference between the book and the shard or #3 have to pay full price for the shard.
