We’ve all had a short rest – onward into oblivion.

Unless there is an objection, Forge and Sim will go first. Since we are not exactly sure how the portals work or what’s waiting on the other side, we will assume that stealth is not an option. We will charge forward through the portal ready to attack or take a defensive position (not that any of these tactics have worked before). The human, the cat and Buckthorn will follow after us. If we jump into an encounter, Forge/Sim will be the front row, human/cat will guard the flanks and Buckthorn will be artillery in the rear. We will try not to get bunched up on the other side.

They cross over...there is no screaming or other signs of distress...

Before you, broken weapons and shattered bones litter the floor of a long chamber, and blackened stone wall are set with racks of burnished steel. The bodies of six beings (that are not human, in spite of the map) litter the floor. The chamber is infused with a dim, orangish light.
