Leif's 1E AD&D Game OOC

Gorash greet the human seller and asks for a discount for himself as he wants to purchase a pony and for his friends, for the sake of past days.
when all is done, he leads them to the "Burping Gnome" tavern for a drink and a good night sleep before they plan to head north to the border.

Gorash finds the merchant willing to offer him a 15% discount in exchange for a mug of ale. If Gorsh will provide the recipe for Dwarven Stout, he will increase the discount to 50%.

The secret ingredients are to grind a poplar tree roots like the ones who grow on the slopes of the Lortmills and a powder of a bitter black mushroom like the ones that can be found in subterranean caves. Stir it with the barley and continue the treatment like you make a regular ale. There is a local dwarf merchant called Dar that gets a stock of the ingredients once a month and sells it to Gnomes and Dwarves around the city. Ask him for the proper quantities for one barrel.
Gorash says to the man
NOW SHOW ME THE HORSES!

Gorash and the Merchant

"Now just suppoising that this feller refuses to sell to me, since I'm Human? Maybe you'd better talk to him first. You know, just to reassure me that our deal will go as planned. In fact, let's just go ahead and make that a requirement for the deal we discussed -- IF Dar will do business with me at the same prices he gives to Dwarves."

I'm not your personal wench, you stubborn lad.
Gorash replies angrily to the human merchant as he sees the man tries to gain much more then what the dwarf is willing to give.
If this is a no deal I will take my buisness to your rival on the other side of the street and then you'll see nothing.

Gorash and the Merchant

"Fine, fine, then come along," whereupon he leads you out back and produces the requested horseflesh.

The Expedition

After collecting the horses, tack, and gear that you have purchased for a 50% discount with Gorash's help, the party is ready to head out toward the Wilderlands beyond the Artonsamay River in search of the area of cairns or barrows Ellyd spoke of where evil humanoids are rumored to be gathering for war and also where the Restless Dead are said to roam freely. It is not immediately clear whether these rumors are connected or not. Perhaps it is the roaming dead that have stirred up the humanoids of the area, or perhaps the marauding humanoids have disturbed the peaceful repose of dead warriors who fell in the numerous battles that took place in the area in ages past. Or, perhaps one set of rumors or the other is false, or perhaps both sets?

Thoroughly pleased with his new purchase, after checking in at this tavern/inn where, I am assuming we will be spending the night before heading out, Ellydd asks the knowledgeable dwarf if there is a temple or shrine to Ehlonna he might visit, to spend time in prayer and contemplation before they leave in the morning.

If so, he'll go spend a good few hours there into the night, passed moonrise. If not, he'll spend some time with his new compatriots, eat and drink a respectably modest amount of ale, spend time brushing, visiting and chatting with his new steed [who's name I've already forgotten, whatev's Greyhawkan Elvish of "Silver Gift"], bringing her an apple or two. and get a decent night sleep so as to take on the new day and adventure full of promise, faith, and a clear head.
