Leif's Homebrew 4E D&D Game, nee 'Leif's Keep on the Shadowfell' [IC #1] [FULL]

Evening:

"I will take this seat. It's Tarrk! Now let's drink and feast and talk tomorrow!" The big minotaur says as he sits down.

---------

Morning:
Tarrk comes down the stairs and sees some familiar faces from the night before. He has cleaned up now, but his horns still have a light re stain from often using them.
"You don't look like the normal traveling folk here. Are you on your way to become legends? If yes, I should travel with you!"

Ok, now let's try this again...

A rousing evening is had by all with copious drink, gluttonous amounts of food, good song, good [insert instrument here] playing, and good cheer. Then you are whisked off to the inn's feather beds where you sleep like babies. (Really big, ugly babies, though, with bloodstained horns, even!)

In the morning, you break your fast, gather your gear, and begin the last leg of your trek to Winterhaven.

[We'll assume that you paid for your stay at the inn, and that what's on your character sheets now is what you had left afterwards. ]

As they are walking, Khellek suggests that they establish some sort of marching order, "In case of bandits and such. These are dark times." the shifter says.

"Perhaps Basher & Tarrk can walk out in front, while I watch the rear, and Elerosse and Aimhirghin stay in the middle?" Khellek offers, glancing over his shoulder.

"Oh, raiding party tactics! Sure. Hey basher, don't stand in my charge ok? I think there will be enough to bash for all! Just don't expect me to hold back or something."
Tarrk replies as he moves next to the warforged.

[sblock=Abulia]Abulia, are you still with us? I need for you to post something ASAP. If this is about as often as you'll be able to post for this game, then I'm sure not convinced that this is gonna work out, ok? Maybe you could try to squeeze in a half hour for us every other day, if not every day?[/sblock]

The warforged nods not quite sure what to make of his newest companion. "I shall follow in your wake, confident you will rip the horns off the foe and leave the clean up me."

You progress toward Winterhaven, making fairly good time. The day is bright and warm for early autumn, the leaves have not quite yet begun to change color, but you sense that it will not be long before you again see the bright yellows and reds of the Faerunian autumn. You have now decided to make a brief rest stop, relax for a moment and eat some of your trail rations. You move off the road just a bit, to a glade of trees in front of a very large rock (30' in diameter) sitting off to the side of the road. The road is still in plain view for several hundred yards in both directions from where you are.

"Not like this. Looks like some cowardly ambush point, like the Furgnarler tribe would. Gnolls, meh."
Tarrk says to the others and looks for signs of enemies.

Do you use passive perception, or shall I roll?

Basher7

"Ambush point?" Having no need to eat Basher7 walks a circuit of the impromptu camp looking for any signs of trouble. "Perhaps this large rock formation at our flank would serve as an ideal vantage point?"

"Bah! Relax, enjoy a good chew" Khellek says, as he leans against the rock and pulls out the dried meat from his rations. He offers the minotaur a piece.

"Ain't nothing better than jerky on the road...well, except a fresh cut of steak, but that's being greedy" the shifter says to nobody in particular.
